  1. Perhaps this is the reason that universities are having to offer 'adulting 101' . Grow up 20/30 year olds. We as parents to these spoiled, elitist children are responsible for at least aiming them in the wrong direction in life. I am shocked and pleased UM didnt cave as many have. And thank you Dr Prasad for standing up, because I am sure you will have some walking out on you, as well. I think every medical student should be required to see the film "The Doctors" before graduation and again every couple years.

  2. Ironic I am having to take a diversity and inclusion seminar for the state of Michigan to renew my license. How is any of what these people did diversity and inclusion? Mockery of Michigan

  3. I'm not Typhoid Marry. I don't think I'll ever get another vaccine again unless tied up in a straight jacket by the authorities. I've had many in my 55yrs but once they started becoming mandatory, never again. They are likely the cause of many of my and other peoples autoimmune symptoms. Medical science is not an exact science like engineering and when they say they know, they are lying to you. Keep us informed and back off. People, you are participating in an ongoing experiment and the people in charge are corrupt taking care of their own self interests. Please start living life.

  4. There is no middle ground with those who limit their pov and aren't willing to at the very least hypothesize a perspective counter to their own. The tendency in this current culture is to completely remove common sense from the discussion

  5. Yes, I’m about to play the age card. IMO, this is so indicative of a couple of generations now that have been so catered to by parents and everyone in their orbit, that they cannot suffer a differing opinion or a contrary wind brushing their sensibilities the wrong way. Their sense of entitlement always assures them theirs is only way to go, because they’re right; of course.

  6. So what happens when their patients have dissenting opinions on various medical or moral issues? Are they going to act like toddlers and stop treating them? Hospitals won’t be to pleased. As they are a business and the bottom line is all that matters.

  7. I take heart reading the comments from those of you who feel the same as I do. We may find ourselves on different sides of the discussion, but we can provide compassionate, respectful care for our patients, and engage in meaningful discussion with one another as we develop treatment plans. I see you out there my friends and I'm so grateful to have you as a part of the profession.

  8. Typical liberal child mind…glad they walked out…it shows how much these people are the narrow minded. They act like the boy in the sand box that that gets mad and takes his toys and goes home. Funny thing they probably weren't missed.

  9. I would not want one of these students as a doctor once they graduate as they are narrow minded and discriminate and would probably have weird ideas. They should not be allowed to graduate because as a retired nurse people in the health care should not allow their personal opinion to interfere with your attitude to care for a patient who may be different in thinking and attitude or ethnic background. These students were rude and show that they allow their opinions to interfere with the person who may be different. Can you imagine a doctor leaving a patient suffering, in critical condition or in dire need because they thought different or ethnic background.
Are these students so stupid they know nothing about birth control either IUDs or medications???? They flunk!!!!!!

  10. It is time to stop letting the students run the school. It is disrespectful and dangerous how much arrogance and bullying young people are encouraged to exhibit everywhere these days. They are not in charge, yet. The older folks need to tamp down on this crap across the board.

  11. Come on! The life of the mother is a facade. Let's be honest here. If that wasn't an issue on the table, or some advancement in science eliminated that ever being an issue, would any pro-choice advocate concede? It's strictly about consequence free sex.

  12. By no means have I ever considered being a doctor or even worked in a hospital. BUT no matter what profession one is aspiring to be, being childish will never work. I love my country yet at the same time I am ashamed of what we have diminished to. People are so immature that they cannot realize that a person is more than a label – i.e. pro-choice, etc. One label is heard and that’s the summation of the whole individual. You now know their past, present & future? How linear can one be? I read a statement & at first I laughed but now I sincerely cry, “We have smart phones, but now dumb people.” Lord Jesus, please heal our land.

  13. Hey Doc, I'm a big fan of yours but somehow you blocked me on twitter?Twitter?! I'm not sure what I said… someone had mentioned your name along with Zdogg. The only thing i said was I don't trust zdogg. I enjoy your work and hope you can unban me on Twitter.

  14. I am all for pro-choice! A mother has the right to do what she wants to prevent birth or get rid of it within 16 weeks. She doesn't have the right to determine to let her child live or be killed. That's not HER body. We need to stop both extreme examples and keep necessary abortions safe and make them as few as possible!

  15. The speaker was in the wrong. So were the students. You are there to care for the pt, regardless! You are there to give them care! You have to treat a child molester the SAME as a prince of saudia arabia! If you CANNOT do that you are NOT supposed to be a dr!

  16. Love your viewpoint about being willing to listen even if we don't agree and have sane conversation. That's why I enjoy your channel. I disagree with you on a lot of things but listen and value your opinion because of that and your levelheaded way of expressing it and you're willingness to consider the other side. tHAT is how we move forward as a society and democracy. When that art is lost so is our democracy.

  17. It's also an important issue in the life of the unborn human too. You forgot to mention that. There are TWO lives at stake (one which is often negated or forgotten about because they cannot be heard yet) which as a doctor working to save human life – both should be considered and mentioned.

  18. It is a shame. If the doctors that graduate from U of Michigan can walk out on a speach, then how will they treat me as a patient. Not all students walked out? True. However, I'll never know which ones graduated any way. Therefore I'll never go to a U of Michigan doctor. Not recommend to any family or friends. Will spread the story. Now every doctor that graduates from U of Michigan, regardless of year is tainted. Stay away from all of them.

  19. The students who walked out shouldn’t be allowed to go to medical school. They are immature, close minded and discriminative. We don’t need doctors who can’t tolerate people with different views. How will they treat or not treat a patient? Unacceptable!

  20. I will say one thing ….. medical discrimination….. if you are a medical practitioner and can't be around people who have different beliefs and opinions and refuse to give them care you're not doing your job and are discriminating against your patients…. and if you can't be around people with different beliefs and opinions especially in a professional environment then you literally can't function as a mature adult in society…. it's not realistic
