In recent years, especially in 2022, the requirements to get Mexican residency have gone up like crazy. There are many people who dreamt about living the good life in retirement in Mexico but can no longer qualify for residency.
The Mexican government is going to do what they’re going to do, but fortunately, there are many great (and cheaper) alternatives.
In this video I’m going to share with you 6 of my favorite residency programs in 2022.

Another great video well done!
Really engaging Comments… Almost forgot 👉👉What has changed your financial live positively?… (A RESEARCH POLL 📌)
6:00 Can you import your house too?
NOTE: You'll have to live in Belize for at least 50 consecutive weeks out of a full year. During this period you won't be able to leave the country for more than 14 consecutive days, or your application may become void.
The residency visa requirements for Ecuador have just changed. The monthly income is 3x's higher now.
Really helpful video Jordan. Thank you. 😊
Looks like Mexico is not alone in increasing the requirements. Right after you came out with your video, JP and Amelia released a video today after Ecuador has just changed their residency requirements for Visas.

You've been living in Mexico for more than 3 years in several different cities…,so showing this video about another places where you haven't been is not professional. Good luck in other places….., see you again in Mexico in future.
Perhaps it would be worthwhile to add to your analysis the reasons why Mexico took these measures. It would be interesting. Without that context it is hard to know if Mexico shoot itself in the foot or not. Seems that Mexico wouldn't add this requirements if it did not think there were also some benefits of doing so. More context and a broader overview would make your video more interesting. Sure, I understand that you have a main target audience, i.e. Americans thinking about relocating abroad, but I am sure you could share a deeper perspective on the context given that you have spent so many years in Mexico now. This could be interesting to other smaller segments of you audience , e.g. me.
Medellin is the best option, perfect weather all year round, 38% cheaper than Mexico, only 6 hours from Miami, friendly people and more security than Mexico and above all drinking water from the tap.
Excellent presentation , can’t wait for the next time. Take care.
Is it $2600 per month per person or $2600 per family? Jordan?
good video Jordon
As mexican I see a bit sad the increasing taxes to foreigners
Channels not the same since the breakup. No spark anymore
THE OCEAN IS COLD WATER IN PORTUGAL
In Mexico, by creating a company, can you get a visa? could you please research about it? thanks
Good video! It is just the stock info though, and does not employ your personal network of nomads and travelers. What about the unofficial options? For example, your long-stay peers often use the "fight" visa in Thailand. (I do not know how many years it would take to completely master Muay Thai, but it seems to be the kind of thing you could reasonably study for a lifetime.) Any fool or rookie can compile the official government narratives, but exploring the back channels is what requires experience and talent, and is far more interesting…
Wouldn’t it be easier for US and Canadian citizens to find a Mexican fiancé/fiancée?
Big 👍👍, Jordan. I like the more informational videos, like this one or the ones that share compare the costs of specific housing units. This is quite helpful to those researching expat living.
Mexico’s current administration knows well that the nation’s standard of living is going up, up, up in the near future. Therefore, they have to raise the standard of living for expats. Sorry.
damn inflation hit there too.
