MINI REBUILD PART 12 (..insulation, battens and sanding) – Portuguese House Renovation

We are in the middle of renovating our house in an abandoned Portuguese village. Currently we are working on the mini rebuild. In this episode we put up the insulation layer on the roof and i put n the first layer of battens. Duarte is going to send the old rafters to make them look nice and fit with the decking. In the next episode we will continue with the battens. ALso he roof tiles still need to be cleaned.

My name is Jasper and i bought a house in a Portuguese ghost town. Together with my dogs Zoey& Akira we show you the rebuild of our house en what it is like living the daily life in Central Portugal.

  1. Hi Jasper and Duarte. Sanding to music is the way to go. Jasper you have done so much in a day again. Glad the weather is a bit more kinder. Akeria is a lab wants to be in every thing…..if she could get up on a roof she would. Another job ticked off your list. Brilliant 👏. Stay safe and see yous both tomorrow. 👍.

  2. I call it a shed roof. Thanks for the roof tile “show and tell”. Much appreciated. Tell Duarte the Auntie from Canada said to wear a mask. Hearing protection is just one part of it😷

The music transition to video fast forward at the beginning of the insulation install was really good😎

The Robins have arrived in western Canada and are chirping the close of the day. The saying goes THE EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM. Such a wise turn of phrase.

    So get CRACKING! (British??)

    Ciao from Canada

  3. Как это всё напоминает мне мою Родину: Азербайджан. Там тоже почти такой же климать И мы такими черепицами кроем крышу Удачи вам наш любимый Дон – Кихот !

  4. I would have overlapped the insulation just in case there is a leak in bad storms that way the boards under are afforded extra protection in the case of the ridge capping I would use a metal colourbond tin at the top, if you have to cut it’s not so noticeable at the very top this is done on sides for protection from weather
