MINI REBUILD PART 9 (..I really dislike grinding) – Portuguese House Renovation

We are in the middle of renovating our house in an abandoned Portuguese village. Currently we are working on the mini rebuild. In this episode do a lot of grinding in getting the wall strait. We are running further behind on schedule like this.. Im trying to get the roof on as soon as possible, because we have rain coming. I doubt this is going to be in time.. In the next episodes we hope to put in the decking. De lintels will have to wait a little as rain is coming.

My name is Jasper and i bought a house in a Portuguese ghost town. Together with my dogs Zoey& Akira we show you the rebuild of our house en what it is like living the daily life in Central Portugal.

  1. One project here, one project there. Projects everywhere. When are you finishing the projects you’ve started first? Also, after 4 episodes nothing happened in the tiny house. Why make 9! episodes on this when you’re doing almost nothing?

  2. You don't appear to have a brickies chisell it would be useful chipping those concrete hillocks. I used mine to chip off floor tiles in my bathroom tiles it was hard work as the person who laid them in the first place had not intended them to ever come up again. Props !!!! Lana Australia

  3. Really enjoy your vids. And applaud your advances forward on the projects. Its great learning new skills, i.e. concrete for window openings, etc. You are very lucky to have the input from mentors to advance your skill set. AND I LUV the curated music grooves with the vid speed ups. But Dude! Please take care of you health and wear a mask when grinding, even if the wind is blowing much of it away. It was on your face which means its in the nose. I have been around enough construction projects in this life to know. My grand motherly instincts have kicked in. Maybe some day I will do a bike tour thru the ghost town and say OLA to the girls. Ciao from Canada

  4. Jasper, I would recommend that you consider putting your wood ceiling down then silver insulation then 2 to 3" rigged foam insulation then roofing paper before your batons and tiles. That extra rigged foam insulation would be very welcome to who ever stays there winter of summer. Good job over all, keep it up!!!

  5. I've lived in a few cow sheds.
One a sheep shed in India, Goa, in 1990s
20 dollars for month, free well water , a light bulb and use of fridge for beer.
However I was young , never in shed except some nights.
It's 2020. Who lives in shed.

  6. Beautiful prep job…your roof will be beautiful. Love the way you include Akira on the project…building inspector😉…discuss things at the next meeting…you crack me up!!!

  7. Hi Jasper I always go walking with you. At home The Stang is a place I walk terrain like you have there. N Yorkshire. You got the roof line all nice and level, the props you are using are called in English "agra props". They are so useful, as your singly handedly working one your own. Akira is mouse/ vole or mole hunting,so cute. Another item ticked off your list, woodworking tomorrow, charge up your drills, saws and get your wrist ready for hammer action. 🔨. Stay safe see you tomorrow.
