Moving Things To My Farm in Central Portugal | 2 Week Growth Spurt! | #24

I have started moving things up to the farm in preparation of move day. I discovered that there was so much growth in only 2 weeks since I had last been up there. I also figure out what a few of the trees are – and how the well/tank works. The vineyard and fruit trees are looking spectacular! I guess June will be prepping and bottling month!

About Girl Meets Farm:
I’m Christine. I started this journey in search of my forever farm in Portugal, and now I have found it!

This is my adventure as a solo expat on a farm in Central Portugal with my two fur-kids, Shakti & Shiva.
I’ve never owned or lived on a farm, but moved to Portugal in the hope of fulfilling a life-long dream of finding open space, subsistence farming and a safer, better life.

Now that we have found our farm, the second stage of our journey begins!
I have to figure out farm life while renovating an agricultural structure to make it habitable and turn it into a comfortable home for me and my furkids.

Thank you for joining our journey!

  2. Hallo from South Africa 🇿🇦. I get some new Portugal videos suggested a lot as I watch about 10 already. At least 3 I watch have fellow South Africans. Ken from OK Portugal and Cindy Vine are both from Cape Town. Most I watch are around the same distance from Castello Branco as you. There's another South African Omar in a different region.

  3. I just came across your channel and love watching your videos. I visited Portugal in 2017 and I love the people, food, and culture. Do you have any advices on how to home search in Portugal? Can you share some of your experiences on purchasing a home in Portugal? Thanks.

  4. You may be able to keep the lettuce plants growing for longer. Get branches you can bend in a half-hoop shape, and place a bunch over the row of plants. Then lay a light/white sheet/fabric over the top with the ends open for air circulation. This will reduce the sun's intensity and may extend the lettuce grow season. I'm looking forward to following your journey! 😀

  5. Christine, ek haal my hoed af vir jou.

  6. Dear lady you have an irrigation system. Open valve and allow water to flow down thru garden and to fruit trees. You need to keep up with vine yard weeding , and mowing between vines. Time to buy a riding comercial mower. Or hire someone to keep up with mowing. A string mower takes a long time.

  7. Christine, if you need plumber and electrician services I know good professionals for that. I know them personaly. I can give you their contact number to see what you need and can afford. Just share your contact or email and i send it to you. Good luck🙌✊🙏
