Jeff is still #workingfromhome in Mexico, and is semi #retiredinmexico
Although he works only a few hours a week instead of his usual 18 hr days back in New Jersey

In this video, he shares his journey #movingtomexico. What his monthly expenses are. How he makes friends. Things to do in Playa del Carmen. Whether or not he feels safe #livinginmexico. And why he never plans to move back to the United States.

  1. My wife and I moved to Morelia, Michoacan a year and a half ago.
It's been the best decision we could have made.
My wife is Mexican. The lifestyle is relaxing, and the people are wonderful. We've seen no criminal activity. The cost of living is very affordable. I think we've scored BIG!

  2. Great presentation! Are there volunteer opportunities for people who may want to give back to Playa? What are the needs? Also, what are the local churches, temples, etc. for worship?

  3. I know the sargassum has really effected the areas. We’ve been going there for 20 years. It’s been hard for us to be there because of it. We end up skipping over to Cozumel for some clear water. When it piles up it smells. Maybe it doesn’t bother him or only goes to the beach in the winter.

  4. Hello Mariana….Jeff did a really great job here telling us not only about Playa Del Carmen, but also many of his words apply to anywhere in Mexico. Thank you for sharing this, as well as for Jeff’s time that he took to tell us these great tips!

    Safe travels!

  5. Thank you, Jeff (and Mariana!). I truly enjoyed listening to your words of wisdom, and I thank you for sharing your insider knowledge. I have done a lot of research about relocating to Mexico (I love the Yucatan, but will probably end up in Central Mexico). You put things into a realistic perspective (ex: do your research). You and Q-Roo Paul, among a few other expats are down-to-earth, share what you know, and have assimilated into Mexican culture in a way that I'm sure the locals appreciate (meaning: you don't operate from a place of privilege and you respect the culture you are now a part of). Thank you again, Jeff. And please do more videos!!

  6. Thank you so much for the information. I am in the process of moving for good to Mexico and your channel has answered a lot of my doubts. I do have a question! Do you know if I would be able to get my Mexican Citizenship if my father was born in Mexico, but he passed away 8 years ago? Once again, thank you so much.

  8. Hello my name is Miguel from California thinking to move to playa in December or buy a house there. Can you give the name of your real state agent that helped you out bying your home. Thank you and God bless you

  9. Love the video and the shorter format. It's very hard to fit an hour video into my day. I'm hoping to make the month in three years. I love the beach but don't think I can handle the heat so I'll be looking at the towns in the central highlands.

  10. Fantastic Jeff….working on getting down there ! greets from Florida…would like to join the FB page to learn more. Its just me, so want to learn the steps for paperwork needed, likely fly there. Great Job Mariana! So happy to have found you.

I have wonderful families here, who are respectful. And look out for anything I want. God bless you Querétaro, Mexico.
