Sharing my first Villa holiday experience in Northern Portugal with James Villa Holidays. Having never stayed in a villa before I was very keen to find out what would work better for our holidays moving forward as a family. The kids are a bit older now and I got to really test out hotel v.s. villa holiday this past week as well as view a few James Villa villas along the trip for future stays. I was really impressed right away how much it felt like home away from home. It still had so many amenities and things to do right at your finger tip that hotels have but you don’t think about when thinking about villa life. Some villas even had tennis courts, ping pong, and so much more. I was impressed with all the villas having so much home decor and accessories not just the bare minimum. I felt like I was staying in luxury each villa we went to not some empty unlived house with a bed and a couch in it. They were welcoming, comfortable, stylish and inviting. Northern Portugal is beautiful. It’s not a place I necessarily would think to take the kids for a family holiday until now. There was so much to do and so much to see right on our door step. Even for a holiday away with friends depending on the type of villa holiday you are looking for there is wine tasting, port tasting, restaurant galore, shopping and more to do.
