We arrive in an old rural village in Portugal that centres around a communal square.
We carefully approach the house that stands out from the others, following the bush line, hoping to remain undetected…
Once we reach the front garden, we battle through a tangle of thorns and finally find the front door, vines crawl through every gap.
Inside, we find a traditional family home thats been forgotten for over 20 years. A farming family of four were the last to call this place home.
The layout is different to most, the largest space in the house is dedicated to wine making, the couple produced this in their basement, with easy access to their extensive garden area.
They lived a modest life in this small, close knit village. They had two daughters who grew up here, but eventually moved away to the city, leaving nobody to take care of the house when the time came.
So it remains how it was when they all lived here, scattered with memories, gradually decaying.

What is that thing on the table, creepy ass ting, lol, well done guys👍💯😎
Another fantastic video. Jess looking as beautiful as ever and Sam with his magnificent hair.
All that mould is going to get to you two, eventually 😔,take care.
Guess cooler downstairs to sleep .Better views from upstairs and more light .
This was an interesting place! Though you both look a bit sad and unenthusiastic, if it's personal, I don't need to know, maybe it's just your Europe trip coming to an end soon? Love you both. The way Sam holds his hands behind his back, is a way of an honest person. Thank you for all the details of this amazing house!
Hi Sam & Jess fab house great find x
Snug little place, then you look out of the window and nice views. Loved the commentary and sending warmest wishes to Sam, Jess and Karl… xxx
What's with these over-drama intros?
WOW what an increadible explore. Love the old furniture. Bugger the heat tho. I'd rather the cooler months.Im summer we get weeks of 45 degrees celcius. Glad to see your back Jess xx
Hi u doing, this is David and I'm a lover of old American European style home.im alittle bit angry with u people who explore these old abandon historical homes, without doing a complete historical back ground check on these homes an people, who once live there and also, try to find out if their any relatives, who still might still be living, that have no knowledge of the places.I also believe, that these places can be save,by uquie people, who might want to purchase these incredible homes as well as the land, into a bed an breakfast place.u can help save these places,by promoting it to the public,u know sale the ideal to those oh be interested on that Ideal.u don't have to place the address directly on your website, but they can contact you directly,so that way u don't have to worry about vandal, doing any harm to the those places.people like u,can help save these places, from the down fall of nothingless.
Jess I glad you are better Sam I like your hair like that
Sam and jess house awsome
Seems like everyone in Portugal was making their own Port at one time.
Hi Sam and Jess, I discovered your channel a couple weeks ago and I can't get enough of it! Just wondering if you would consider sketching out the floor plans? I'm interested in the architecture, not the personal items in these homes. It has been impossible to follow the location of the rooms in most existing videos. Historians will be studying your videos for years to come! It would be helpful if you had the floor plan (even if it's not to scake) as well as notes about the condition of the chateau at the time of your visit (dated). When the houses fall down with age, you will have something to refer to. Thanks a bunch!
what a great beautiful house and great video guys.
Reminds me of Italian homes.
Sam on a pristine white shirt 😍
Good to see you both xx
Hi, That was cool, Thanks, I'm sure it was super hot and humid in there. I felt the mosquitos biting. Love all your video's! ❣
Glad Jess is feeling better! Thanks for another great visit. I had a good feeling about the house, it seemed like pleasant practical people had lived there. The kitchen was probably my favorite room and the comfortable breakfast room with the vine window. That odd glass machine at 7:29 isn't a candle, it's a very old style coffee maker. I've also seen them in France. Here's a video of how it works…https://youtu.be/o5AxU1AmMeM
Very interesting! This home was quite sweet in a mouldy rustic sort of way! I always love seeing stained glass windows it’s so pretty. Although it’s a strange layout I love the idea of having bedrooms on the bottom floor where it’s much cooler and easier to sleep during the summer. The rotten mattress looked like they were melting into the floor in the upstairs bedrooms! Thank you for showing us this quaint house, before it’s completely swallowed by nature!! Great to have Jess back too!! Take care guys xx
🤘💜🤘🦘🇦🇺🦘
The Film your asking Sam is ( The Lostboys ). Granpa said it as he had no TV just the guide. Lol. Another great explore guys. Good to see you Jess up and about and well. Thanks for sharing.
Super lieu, vos vidéos et prises de vues sont comme des tableaux !!! Bravo,
the glass item in kitchen was coffee maker
What was that thing laying on the dish on the dining table? Strange skeleton.
Very cool 😎😎 👍 place once again you guys killed it thanks for sharing this
Another awesome exploration guys! I really enjoyed watching it. It’s nice to see how the “regular” people lived there. It’s a nice change and comparison.
That vine covered doorway was definitely very cool!
Thanks for sharing this awesome exploration with us!!
Stay safe and safe travels guys!🥰💖💖💖💖
Glad to see you back Jess! Another great job!
What a nice little house 🏠. I'm glad to see that Jess is feeling better 😊 ☺ 😀.
LOST BOYS!
The game is Bingo. Huge pan is for Paella
Jess, I am so glad you are feeling better. Great place. These people seemed like they were minimalist. Shame the children didn’t care to back to retrieve the family pictures but you really can’t judge them due to you don’t know what actually occurred living there. We have seen and know to many dysfunctional families and friends families that have issues going on. Very nice find and as always a fantastic video. Thanks for sharing.
I loved the kitchen stove that was amazing thank you so much for sharing

Liked the vlog from Margaret P England
مررررررحبااااااا 😍🥰
Did you two ever explore in Japan or China? I like the kitchen and the big bathroom. Too bad there was no bathtub. Maybe that was what the big pan was for, a bathtub.
This is the most unique home I have seen.Well done both of you and thank you for sharing this gem.
I loved seeing the old wash tub upstairs. Good show!
I missed the live but I have to say that I was sitting on the edge of my seat scared that one of you were going to fall through the floor!! It's great to see a smaller simple place and how they lived my favorite part was the top floor. As he was opening the hutch with the bottles I was thinking the whole thing was about to go through the floor!!! The risks y'all take 🙏🏻💯😯💪🏻
Me gustan tus videos son bien iluminados y seve todo bien clarito 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Curious…in the basement you can see all around the perimeter walls there are square beam holes that would have been the joists for another floor. But at that height, it would not have given enough headroom from the current basement floor level. Not sure how the space would have been used.
Good to see you Jess, I hope Karl is better also. Nice, simple home from the past. 🥰🤗
Nice to see you back Jess. That house is awesome. Upstairs was really confusing all the door opening so close. Love watching you guys. ❤️
