You are both amazing and doing a great job as a family to share your journey and informative content.I’ve been watching your videos for a while.What can I say , you can take a girl out of Madeira but you can’t take Madeira out of a girl 😅.   6. I am so looking forward to going to Madeira Island,.Hopefully in another 3 to 4 years. I actually think I will buy a Vespa scooter, I don"t
    think I need a car. I am originally from The Netherlands and I am used to small roads. It will be not so hard I think for me to get around on a Vespa. I am 72 right now, when I will move I will be 77, still, I think I can do it. (hopefully) 🤩. In the meantime, I will follow your video's on the foot so to say. Thanks again Alan and Leslie and Wolf for another fine video.

  9. Dog bite hospital cost 'reasonable'. Can you mention actual prices when talking about stuff. Her 'reasonable' might not be my 'reasonable'. $50 or $500 or $5000 would be numbers some of us have in our mind when we hear that term. Same for other stuff too. Just throw out an actual number. We can do the math to our local currency. I know sometimes prices 'age' so $100 in 2022 might sound weird by someone watching in 2027 but I think we all can still make the relative connection.

  17. Thank you!!! Thank you for showing that it's not all sunshine and lollipops. I do think its an especially American perspective to want the freedom that comes with an automobile. I'd probably want one as well. As for pets, ours were micro-chipped for commuting to Amsterdam and believe me, there are bureaucrats that take all this red tape seriously. On a lighter note, we replayed Leslie's "twirl" a number of times. Now there's a lady who's light on her feet. Serena Williams ain't got nothing on that twirl. Yep, that's right.

  19. Hi guys I’m currently living in BC Canada but I am a Swiss citizen as well,as I immigrated to Canada 25 years ago via marriage,and raising our family here. But because of the weather, freezing and long winters and now fires 🔥 almost every summer I was researching to move back to Europe especially to a warmer country in Europe.Which brought me to Portugal because of all the pros that we all appreciated. I was really loving all the videos and blogs about Madeira and decided to tack a vacation trip to the island.Two years later after the world was some what back to normal I went last month for a week,while in Switzerland visiting my mother. I was very surprised how touristy it is ,yes I know it was high season but I heard that from other people visiting during other times of the year. Also found it very noisy and densely populated ! 1st Question : When you were researching places to move to why didn’t you consider living on the mainland of Portugal? 2nd Question don’t you find Madeira very touristy,noisy and over populated, especially Funchal? I would love your perspective an this. Thanks 🙏 from BC Canada.

  33. Helpful story. Cute dog. She’s the first Madeira transplant I’ve heard say that a car is “absolutely” necessary. Another consideration. I’d love to hear from a single woman who has purchased a home. Thank you!
