We are Elaine and Darren. A few years ago we purchased a small piece of land and tiny village house in Central Portugal. We are now (re) starting our journey of a self reliant life living off grid, renovating our house, and living off our land.

Oh I am so pleased to see you are moving over to Portugal !
I know you will have a beautiful home when it’s finished … the journey will have its ups and downs … but you will pull it off … I look forward to watching ! … you have proven your skills, creativity and determination thus far … of course all would never have happened without Max, your supervisor … so I’m glad to see he’ll still be sitting at the helm !
I’m back in Portugal next week, having been back home for 6 weeks … I’m glad that the temperature has fallen, I got nothing much completed in the extreme heatwaves June and July !
I was baked in my caravan (which reached 52degrees inside when it was 47outside one one occasion !) but regular hot nights were a killer ! … I need to permanent site it and build a van port (roof heavily insulated and then some !
The cooler weather, albeit still 30plus will allow for some progress on projects for all of us !
I wish you three much fun and happiness in this new and exciting chapter …
