Fusion requires tritium, which is not very abundant on our planet. Without tritium, all of this is pointless. We simply don't have enough of it. On the other hand the planet has a huge abundance of silicon which is one of the only material needed for solar panels. We don't need to create a little version of our sun when we already have a gigantic one which gives out free energy everyday..

It is a mega hype. They consumed 30 times more energy than they produced. Too many challenges. Better to focus on solar, wind and fission.

1. The heavy tritirium and helium 3 are rare on earth ,so we probably need to get to moon to mine it.
