  1. Well there’s a little trick get you about 3 pounds of cayenne pepper and pour around at Fenceline he won’t go through it anymore or you can always build him a pan made out of concrete blocks and just let him out When it time to do his duties with the ladies 👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️

  3. Cindy, there's a home remedy to keep deer out of the garden, I wonder if this would work keeping Oreo and the pigs away from the fencing: farmers will tie Irish Spring bar soap stripes on the fence line and deer hate the odor and keep away from the fences surrounding the gardens..
Might try the essence of coyotes too.

  4. Hi Cindy.
Groete Reynet

  5. Kook up you electric fence, and make sure it is charged up and working.
If you are going to keep the eucalyptus trees, thin out the suckers growing, to 2-3 biggest ones, to be kept for fence posts/building and fire wood

  6. Dear Cindy, I sympathize with your problem of the escaping pig artist. I must admit though that I really enjoy watching you battle with this pig. The piglets are absolutely darling. I hope and pray that it will cool down soon and then you’ll get your rain sooner than expected.

  7. Guten Tag Cindy!! Oh I can sympathize about the heat with you! Its so very hot here in Germany too! Last night we had 27C at 2 AM I wasnt asleep yet cuz of it! I do have a big oscilliating fam by my bedside but it didnt do anything so I put my small fan also beside my bed and hen I finally fell asleep at bout 4 AM! Needless to say I am on Zombie mode now lol Anyways- I was thinking that you may want to seed some wintersquashes now also Collard greens and/or swiss chard-and keep them indoors till September then plant them outdoors!? You will still get a harvest I hope! Since the summer destroyed pretty much everything else 🙁 That Oreo!!!!! He needs like a cemented rock wall around his pen lol! I was thinking with the way how hard it is to keep the piglets alive during the heat of the summer you propably change the breeding schedule to have piglets much earlier in the year, right? but how you going to do this if Oreo keeps going in and out as he pleases to be with his ladies? What a pain in the rear he is lol Love the gentle behaviour of the 2 dogs! Them girls are too sweet and seems fierce in barking off all preditors! Awesome!! Hey since meat is so high now I just learned on how to make TOFU from red lentils (which I love) I am sure you know how but me, lol I had a real duh moment so simple! Still on the egg plant craze and today had roastd eggplant then cut up into a spicy garlicy tomato sauce over pasta…yum! (a little pasta since I am a diabetic as well as you! How do you keep your insulin cold? Now in the fridge I guess but before? Stay cool my friend!! Drink enough!!! Bye for now and God bless!

  8. Love you Cindy, You need help my dear. There are many that would help. Electric fence for the piggies is a must!! You will keep "fixing" what they already have learned to pushed through. Ask for some help . There are may young folk that are travelers , that aspire to the way of life you have chosen.

  9. Sorry, it's me again! I had to have proper fence installed as I had cows leaning over from next door farm and as on slope was dangerous. Local hardware owner/ builder brought his digger, went down a metre, cemented holes and proper treated thick poles, were set. Then spanned, normal wide steel wire, (I guess 4 CM's holes wide, )from one very long end of land to another. Then the trick that made that fence taut was a roll of" ribbon" steel wire was inserted in and out of fence, top and bottom. The ends were attached to a contraption, which tightened that fence soo strong, that a 800 kg bull could not push against! And no pigs can push or lift. Go onto Google and it's all there .
New pens perhaps under those lovely olive trees using them as poles also . A silly suggestion ..maybe pigs can't eat olives! But you did say Oaks as well!
Plant lots of bright, tough bougainvilla along fence to disguise, for beauty, . Also a very saleable business, eventually.

  10. To beat the heat, if you have a freezer, freeze a large jug of water. Then place it in front of your fan so the air flows past it to reach you. People have said this works like a charm. Hope it helps. Love from Canada 🇨🇦

  11. You said you were breaking even on the pigs. Food costs equal piglet sales. Perhaps it’s time for Oreo to go unless having him around is worth all the effort to contain him and all the littles who follow him out. They are all learning how to get out and might be lost, so no sales.
I looked up if boar meat is edible since here in the USA hunters shoot wild pigs and eat them. Please look it up. It’s considered a delicacy in Europe.

  12. I too think Building & decor is right. Or rocks & cement, whichever is easiest or cost effective. Maybe fill a bunch of big plastic bins with rocks? Drill holes in the bottom so you don't breed mosquitoes. "Wall" of bins (single layer) plus the wood & barbed wire. And electric fencing. For an electric fence, can your friend (Playhouse) teach you to install one through an online meeting? One more skill I think you can master.

  13. Got any extra wood pallets? Just tie two or three together in this weak section of the fence. Use some rebar rods to secure them into the rock hard ground. More than one way to skin a hawg!!!!!

  14. Hi Cindy. Are you the same lady who gave math classes on tv here in South Africa? Love watching your videos. My husband is Portuguese. Both my hubby and son were on Madeira in Feb. Please keep cool. May God bless you abundantly. Greetings from the Boland.

  15. Hi Cindy, you have solar so why not put up a electric fencing?. I doubt he will attempt any escape if he get "shocked" once or twice. It will also prevent wild pigs from raiding his enclosure or even wolves.

  16. The gabions or a metal fence with longer posts cemented in much deeper (at least 18"/46cm) with a sturdier wire mesh than the chicken wire would be better suited to hold in the pigs. The gabions would be too heavy for Oreo to move and last a very long time. Sorry to hear that all of Cocopops babies have died.

  17. Lovely to see all the piggies roaming about. That is apart from Orio who is a naughty 🐷 piggy. Hope you can sort the fences out soon. Maybe Nick might have some ideas you can try. Love to you and all the four legged friends xxx 🐝 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

  18. Hi Cindy, when driving from Stellenbosch, thru Malmesbury to my house at Piketberg, I noticed farmer and helpers loading straw bales! Yay. I turned into drive and they sold me as many that would go into my old '76 Merc. I packed square pieces amongst around every lavender, iceberg roses etc.Awesome to decompose, keep plants damp and feed as they were planted in hard clay soil . You have the bonus of pig mulch for your orchard. Are straw bales available in C Branco? If so load up, and throw down in pens. Your fruit trees will thank you, I promise! Also nice to sit on at braai, with mat/ kelim thrown over!🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝

  19. I think Building And Decor is right. Cinder block fencing may be needed contain that rascall Oreo. The little piggies are so cute. It's too bad that Cinnamon bun lost her babies. That heat is 👹🙂👍👍
