Beijinos e abraços,
Carissa, Iwan, Frankie & Albi

Carissa, Iwan & Frankie decided one night over a bottle of wine that moving from North Wales to Portugal would be a good idea. Within a month they were on the road to Portugal to find the perfect piece of land to call their new home. We picked up Albi the cat along the way. Subscribe to follow our journey as we turn an old stone barn into our home, and learn the ropes of looking after a piece of land to make an abundant garden and one day, our very own winery.

  1. Carissa and Iwan, if you don’t mind, there are two channels on YouTube that are struggling to get traction as far as viewers and subscribers are concerned and maybe if you were able to mention them they may increase their subscribers, they are “Finca Life” and “The Wildlanders”, one is located in Spain while the other is just down the road from you in Costelo Branco, thank you very much !

  2. Another remedy for stings is a copper penny. I got stung in my garden and my neighbor heard me scream and she ran to me with a penny which I put on top of the sting and it took the pain away. I might have a copper penny around more than tobacco since I no longer smoke and have no tobacco around.

  3. ALWAYS LOVELY TO SEE ALBI/JOAO & FRANKIE; & OF COURSE, THE CHICKENS, GALLIVANTING ABOUT…IN THE KITCHEN…;)…BACKBREAKING WORK, BENDING OVER TO PLANT SEEDLINGS…I HOPE YOU USE A TABLE TO DO MOST OF IT…GOOD LORD, THAT WOULD JUST ABOUT PUT ME ON MY BACK FOR A WEEK!…RAISED BEDS ARE THE WAY!…IT'S LOOKING GREAT…YOU'LL GET THERE…I REALLY LIKED THAT FIRST MUSICAL INTERLUDE YOU PLAYED, AS WELL…BLESSINGS, CARISSA & IWAN…;)

  4. Personally I believe that the cure is Tabaco Abuse.. I cannot believe that they just dump your stuff on the drive.. Hope garden seeds all germinate and give you more than last season. Have you thought about building a small green house for the future??

  5. Hi guys everything is coming along great. Just a thought I am a dog rehab practitioner and would like to suggest that you don't ask Frankie to jump like that. Long backed dogs are some of my most frequent patients and often require extensive surgery for their spines – usually after something as simple as jumping on and off sofas.

  6. Amazing to see a trained Longhaired Dachshund, she is lovely, I managed it with one of my Wirehaired Dachshunds but not to your level. Have you read about water glassing eggs as you have chickens so you can have fresh eggs all year round?

  7. When we lived in Wales we had a cob long house and I turned the end which would have been for animals into a kitchen and built all the cabinets myself rustic but worked very well and fitted in with the rest of the cottage

  8. So much to do and so much progress since I subscribed….. impressed! 🌀💚🌀 Side Note… the pull out boards for extra kitchen counter space when needed sounds like an excellent idea for a kitchen in a small space 😊 another side note… Sausage dog is adorable!

  9. Yay sand happy days.
Get some pallets and make a work bench, saves you bending all the time . Put a big deep container , rectangular on it and pot up in there… Make yr compost with feed and broken egg shells eg shells mix it up and viola you can do yr pots. Happy gardening 👩‍🌾

  10. Watch out for your fingers now trying to make holes..much better using a screwdriver/metal rod over fire or a soldering iron.. I hope you have abundance this year..better sow some seeds to many for more security or give away than falling short

  11. Sand delivery! Now you can get some stone work done. The kitchen looks great! Upon researching my lack of success in the gardening department. I was told to add some coarse sand to the soil to improve drainage. With compost of course. 🙂👍👍👍👍
