ONE MORE WALL TO RAISE.. | Portuguese DIY House Renovation

We are in the middle of renovating our house in an abandoned Portuguese village. After days of rain today finally it seems like we are in luck. So let’s continue with that gable. I am starting with the diagonal wall that needs to connect to the gable wall. But again we start with cleaning up the wall.

Stay tuned for more building content and why not hit the notification bell so you don’t miss it 😉 thanks for watching!

My name is Jasper and i bought a house in a Portuguese ghost town. Together with my dogs Zoey & Akira we show you the rebuild of our house and what it is like living the daily life in Central Portugal.

  1. Jasper, I could not help but notice how you compared your wall saying compared to how the Portuguese built a wall. Your walls are not how the Portuguese built a wall but how someone built that wall because if you travel through Portugal there are many structures that have lasted many centuries which gives more than enough evidence that the Portuguese can build a wall and walls that will outlast yours. Here in South Africa the Portuguese are actually regarded as one of the best building contractors so generalizing your badly made walls and saying that is how the Portuguese build them is rather rude to the Portuguese people who have given you residence in their country, Best you get your lily-white Dutch ass into apologizing to the Portuguese before you find yourself being chased back to your own country. This sort of comment is the type of thing that will also have you to lose subscribers. There is no need to offend people. Thank you

  2. Hi Jasper, we have been following your channel for quite a while now, and it’s great to see the walls rising up again. Cannot wait for the massive roof beam to be in place! I am sure it’s only a matter of time. As for the negative nellies that just have to make comments, if you don’t like what he is doing, you don’t have to watch! If you are happy with your work, just ignore them and move on! Keep up the hard work xx☕️☕️

  3. Well Jasper your getting the job done in between the weather. The language lessons are a great idea and help bring more people and skills together. Glad you have a friend in the class too. Plus side "Free" is always good. Check out what other coultural classes there are. Dog training is coming along nicely too, I can see them listening more….Jasper rise above the negative trolls. Your doing what they can't. Stay safe and sane. Love your videos too.

  4. Nice work on the wall Jasper, and great to hear you are learning Portuguese (I am doing the same, my first time learning another language so I am finding it tough but a great challenge). Re the wall in the triangle section. Have you considered adding in some glass blocks? just a thought to bring in a bit of extra light, if you are having to build up that section of wall. Take care D

  5. Thanks for your vid Jasper 😇💗💗💗 love you sometimes and that's because you don't speak back, you made beautiful progress. If you would just responded on the comments you could have better contact with people that like your vids. And maybe more people would subscribe.

  6. Is a single row of tjolos going to be able to support the very heavy ridge beam. Would it not be sensible to put a 2nd row behind the tjolo ridge or even add shuttering and concrete?
