ONE YEAR Living in Portugal | How This Couple Dealt with Early ADVERSITY

Hey Expats and Travelers! Josh from ExpatsEverywhere is here again. An interview with Michael and Melissa from the YouTube channel Tourabunga is waiting for you. We will discuss what they did when they first arrived in Lisbon, Portugal, and how they dealt with the difficulties they faced. They moved from the US to a not so ideal apartment in Lisbon and had a very difficult first year. Making Portuguese friends and feeling like they lived in a community made a big difference though. Let’s see the issues that arose and how they got passed them. ExpatsEverywhere is here to help if you have questions about the life abroad.

Josh and Kalie left the US for a life abroad in 2009 and haven’t looked back. They have lived in Spain, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and are currently in Portugal. 1. Expats Everywhere & Tourabounga – great channels we really enjoyed watching on our journey to PT. Appreciate the work you put into these, keep these great vids rolling in!

  2. Michael and Melissa are 2 gems in a pod!
    Funny, interesting and light-hearted!
Loved to watch both teams together (Expats Everywhere & Tourabounga) on this video!
In spite of feeling excited with the idea of immigrants from the one of the most developed countries in the World feeling happy in my country, I also feel sad that the US, being so beautiful in its architecture, rich in its infrastructure and multicultural society, is struggling with so many problems!
I hope that changes sooner rather than later, but in the meantime I know the Portuguese will make you feel at home!

  3. It’s so interesting to see how Josh is ready to learn the new language from the get go. He did it in Spain , now he’s doing it in Portugal. A tremendous interest in culture through living.
