Upon arrival to Portugal with your pet:
1- Get your pet an Antiparasite collar or pill (Prevendog protects against Ticks, Mosquito, and Sand Flies which can transmit Leishmaniasis.
2- Get your dog the Leishmaniasis Vaccine (For dogs only- not administered in the USA)
3- Register the pet microchip in the national Portuguese database, [Sistema de Identificaçãode Animais de Companhia (SIAC)]
4- Establish an EU Pet Passport for your pet to use on trains or cross-border travel
5- Register your pet at the local Freguesias or parish board council (annually)
