So sad she's going through all this.
Rehoboot doing this ? Ghana is scary. Their lunching come and see big men and government officials. 😢 Sad
This is crazy
Sincerely I’m proud of you sister, how I wish I have a place to bless you with in honor of our great country Ghana.. please never lose hope. We are behind you ..
This is not a good thing for the image of Ghana 🇬🇭
Milton Keynes is neither easier, l rented apartment from citystay apartment,l left the apartment and till this day never got my deposit back .Never ending stories all the time .
GHANA is corrupt to the core, Guys be careful who you deal with
Stay away from 100% Ghanaian own real estate company..I will soon share my ordeal with another Ghanian scamming real estate company.
This might be a longshot and I don't know if it could work. But aside from Akua, there are others in the comments who have suffered the same faith as she along with other stories like this. What if you all can come together being that you are citizens of other countries and sue the Ghanaian government not based on a civil matter which is why these developers were taken to court; but on a criminal matter against the Ghanaian government for not doing enough to protect foreigners in their country knowing the bad practices and fraudulent behaviors that exist and is allowed to exist because the laws dont enforce or hold accountable these bad practices of wrongdoers in this country. Diasporas are a target of this illegal practice and this is a crime and the Ghanaian government needs to be held accountable.
Let's start a gofundme page to show her some love. It is so unbearable to see her through this ordeal. She needs our help even if she is not asking for it.
Will there be a part 3 once the process is done. You could do a video talking about her final overall assessment of her situation. Also would like to know how she’s doing now
I hope she comes out of this ok
The *30,000 is only part of what she has lost; there’s air fare, lodging, food, taxi fare, etc. it all adds up
I have a case in court in Ghana since 2007!!!!! Over a piece of land that an enemy of progress called a ‘chief’ stopped me from improving the lives of the locals ! I was even registered as an investor in Ghana! Got the certificates to prove it! I sold my 3 bedroom house here in the UK to go back to Ghana to make a change!!!!!!!! Yes, I am a Ghanaian born and bred!!!!! I lost everything and stilll paying court fees And as for the lawyers 🤬🤯🤬🤬🤬😡. 15 years later, I am still in court! Where in the whole world can this be allowed to happen?? Court case ongoing 15 years! I am soo disgusted to be a Ghanaian! I am ashamed to even tell people here in the UK that I am from there! Sad story, after sad Story! F:………g disgusting,,,,,, then we call ourselves christians💪🏾💪🏻💪🏻🤯🤯🤯🤬
Really really great getting the name out there. They were on my list of developers I was considering….wow…. Thanks so much. That’s Ghanaian society for you… no one says anything and the crime keeps on being perpetuated. It needs to stop we should be our brothers and sisters keeper
I believe the lawyer switched because she already had your money. It's all about money.
Akua, I'm glad you came out with your story. You are right, the law in a lot of times doesn't hold people accountable. I know of a case involving a house that's been in the court for over 8 years. Some people involved in the case have passed on and the case is still in court. Kudos to you Akua!!! That company is popular. You have actually saved some people from getting duped as well.
I almost bought from Rehobooth properties with my mum, and even from the initial stages I could see that they were highly incompetent. They would take their time to reply to my emails and had a generally rude attitude.
In the end we decided to continue our project in the North of Ghana and we are both about to complete. The biggest mistake you can make in Africa is to believe that you won't be cheated because the project manager is your 'friend'. Trust is exploited in Ghana.
Thanks am Milton Keynes was planning to buy from them
Thank you for being open and telling your story 💕
Can this story not be forwarded to Dampare? There is obviously fraud here?
She needed to have conducted due diligence to see if there is actually real estate. Trust but verify..
I must applaud you for having the strength to share your story. Obviously you have to stay focussed to the conclusion of this mess. Glad to hear there were people who reached out to you. If I were there I would hope that I would reach out to you because you come across as being really hurt obviously by the whole process. My heart goes out to you and I wish I was able to help and support you, even if it was just free accommodation. I, like you felt Gh. I've bought land and then the pandemic, so I've left it but now am feeling a bit scared as to what I'll find when I manage to return. So sorry that you've been put through all this crap. This isn't the way anyone would like their introduction to Gh to go. May the Almighty guide your steps and bring you a happy conclusion to this situation and that you don't feel too scarred to live in Ghana. It's true what you said, you can't trust anyone.
Scammers are definitely to blame and should be condemned and punished. . But if you don't follow proper procedures in buying land anywhere in the world more than likely you will be scammed. I don't why people assumed. this doesn't happen in the US, UK etc. I have seen many scams in the US. In one case it was an inside job of lower level local government officials or when the bank failed to pay taxes even though the owner had paid everything on time. Even when proper procedures were followed and mortgage paid on time I have seen cases in which people were scammed.
This is the fact about Ghana, and this is not only in the real estate it everywhere and where ever you go people will steal your money, cheat you and the whole lots. The level of corruption and deception is so huge. It sad and a shame, and mind you I AM A GHANAIAN LEAVING OUTSIDE.
Look, the lack of accountability is very common in most African countries simply put. You need to be firm and put your FOOT DOWN with the lawyer regarding the REVIEW of her business and service practices. Don't be intimidated by any of these CLOWNS, let the lawyer know that if you don't get your MONEY ASAP, the review will go back up indefinitely, period. Finally, maybe you need to do the whole thing over again, count your losses, and move back to the U.K. to recoup your lost funds and re-evaluate your AFRICA PLANS. Very terrible she had to experience such deceptive and crooked characters, unfortunately.
When it says sheep in wolves clothing we straight away assume it is the pastors of the church not realising it could be anyone. The similarities are the same just like the pastor uses God's name to hide behind and do wrong many people do the same. It is hard to distinguish who is truly righteous.
Only God can see our true hearts.
It would have been nice to know the names of the ladies who gave the recommendations. Just to make other people cautious if they are dealing with them as well. What do you guys think?
That’s what the attorney get for taking advantage of innocent folks. She was never a professional attorney to begin with, it’s a shame how she took advantage of this lady who chose to retire in Ghana 🇬🇭. Her experience may discourage folks from moving to Ghana that’s what I can’t wrap my head around. The real estate company should have their license suspended or revoked as well.
There is no justice in Ghana
What real estate is she talking about ? I hope it's not Emefs Estates. That company is another one that can hurt your feelings by disappointmenting you after taken your money .I will advise people not to have business with Emefs Real Estates . They will take your money without building for you. Woman I feel your pain . I had been there with Emefs real estates . Because of what that company did to mey plans for retirement is a mess .I will repeat my sentence again DO NOT SIGN CONTRACT WITH EMEFS REAL ESTATES at Tema in Ghana. Thanks for sharing .
I feel your pain." I honestly don't know nowhere to trust." I think Akua is right about everything that she said. I was born and raised in Ghana Sometimes its difficult to know what is right or wrong, who is on your side and whether they are telling you the truth. Accountability, is very low. And you need a third eye 👁 👀 and the universe on your side to stick to your own principles of honesty. That's a tall order. There are too many examples of the sorts where foreigners or even Ghanaians living overseas were not treated fairly. Until everyone in Ghana start doing right thing and be honest, there is no point calling people to come to Ghana. Only to face such raw deals. It should be a one way commitment from Ghanaians to visitors and a demand to be kind to foreigners. Irrespective!
Africa has Rulers (not Leaders) Rule by Law (not Rule of Law) and like America Laws are selectively applied
