I did not know that about Patreon. Now that the ex-employee calls that stuff out, I want to see if it has any effect. I'll also look into which alternative forms of support the artists I'm currently supporting there may or may not offer.
Also the parents who shoot these photos of their children need to be sued. These poor kids are damaged for life, just for internet validation and creep money.

If I understand your carefully coded language correctly, the site is accused of allowing images of children which don't violate CP laws. It's possible that websites like Patreon are caught in a double bind regarding such content, in that it may be unsavory but not bannable without inviting lawsuits. And if it makes the company money, so much tighter the bind.

I am aware of a bunch of artists that create adult visual novels and art and there are a few of them that include artistic depictions of young-looking characters. Essentially these are cartoons and don't involve real people. But they will block the page if the cartoon doesn't look like "she" hit puberty, but sometimes they will let it pass if the story states that they are 18 or older.

If they are this strict with cartoons, I cannot imagine them being lax with real people. I will say it's possible, just that I doubt it until I see the evidence. Even with my negative view of Patreon.

That's… because it doesn't let you comment on people? Anyone can have a Patreon, many artists do, many musicians do, many Youtubers do. There is no "political" questions when you setup a Patreon. People being blocked is something new that I haven't heard of, but considering some of the people I've seen with Patreons (including terrorist level right-wingers who constantly rant about fake conspiracies) is mind boggling that anyone would give them a platform to just be given money.

So there is a lot you can dislike about them: the shares they take from people using it, the claims of ownership, fees they take from people, the UI, etc. But "leftist think camp" is pretty out there.

I've watched your stuff for awhile now, and have typically enjoyed your content. But every episode where you self-censor sends chills down my spine. While you talk about topics that are controversial and I'm sure many of your viewers enjoy that you are not afraid to make these videos, you do so while still being afraid. You're afraid that using 'bad words' will prevent you from getting your message out, but every time you self-censor for them you are spreading their message and that they are winning.
