  1. Regret for a referee who doesn’t know the game of soccer ⚽️.???This is embarrassing for FIFA referees.???😂The referee destroyed the game without checking the VAR after giving the panelty.????😂

  2. Ronaldo is indisputably an all time great. Amazing achievement finishing that penalty. Record breaking. This was simulation (anyone who’s played at a decent level can see that trailing leg). The defense of this overt dive shows either a lack of experience and/or a lack of objectivity and this discredits these arguments, throwing them into the realm of fanaticism.

  3. That wasn’t a mistake by the ref! What about VAR??! Or VAR was on holiday because it was an African team as always! It high time Africans stop going for this World Cup and make the Africa cup more attractive and valuable because these people are always going to do this to Africans teams and say it was a mistake by the ref while it always the plan to get the African team out as always!

  4. Yes no doubt it's a soft penalty, but the fact is CR7 did touch the ball first and Ghana player did contact his leg which tripped him in the BOX. So it is what it is tbh. For me this penalty is like a redemption for the first disallowed goal he scored. And it's fun to see how they contradicting the things that they have said.

  5. That's an absolutely embarrassing "penalty" to call. No official should be able to sleep on good conscience making that call. It was ALWAYS said that you don't call for a penalty unless there's a clear opportunity won that was being taken away by an opposing foul. Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Salisu touch the ball near-simultaneously, and CR7 takes himself out of the play. If anything, he deserved a warning for the flop. Calling that a foul COMPLETELY going away from the spirit of how a game should be officiated.

Meanwhile, some other notes of contention in the comments:
    > No, CR7 did not score earlier either. He committed a foul, which was justly blown dead before he shot. And the players stopped before/during the shot anyways.
    > No, Portugal wasn't offside on Joao Felix's goal. It was well-timed and well-played. The pitch itself can help you line it up to show it was onside.
    > This particular penalty has nothing to do with VAR messing up how calls were made. The only point of emphasis from VAR so far is that of a defensive hold (see the foul that Lewandowski drew vs Mexico), and that is actually a fair change. Players who win the spot but are held definitely deserve the penalty.
    > FOX has been INCREDIBLY biased in their assessment of these penalty calls. They'll be critical of the very legitimate foul that Lewandowski drew, but this call was fine? I wonder if FOX realizes they have Polish and Ghanian fans watching their broadcasts too, because it's frankly been insulting to see these assessments at times.

Between this and the garbage "offside" call in Ecuador-Netherlands (re: the line of sight was CLEARLY in tact both during the initial shot from outside the 18 and when the Dutch keeper made his dive), we have non-European upstarts seeing points ripped away from them at the expense of European favorites. Let's just hope it's incompetent officiating, and nothing more.

  6. if it was messi losing does worldcup pressure affects MESSI and ARGENTINA if CR7 lose the match does CR7 FORM affects entire portugal team im gonna show my kids about being unfair lessons from ESPN the way he asked ANYONE WANT TO SAY ANTHING NICE ABOUT CR7 tells the entire story 12:31 ……….
actually gaining a penalty and even scoring it is a beauty if u guys criticize it then please grow up its a part of the game, and not to mention no single debate about argentina penalty nor ronaldo disallowed goal yup i acceipt ronaldo was playing in the below average form but he's ronaldo and thats why espn doing this video

  7. Soccer is a joke to watch.. i have lost so much money over dubious referee interference that has nothing to do with the game, just corrupt European antics.. I'm just waiting for messi to retire and I will never lay my eyes on another soccer game.. it's all football, basketball and tennis and no more of these dramatic diving that's so unsportsmanlike

  8. It felt like Portugal was all in on helping their teammate Ronaldo get his world record. Players weren't really taking shots at goal as freely and would instead hold up the play to find a pass to Ronaldo or rotate the ball out to another player that is able to pass to Ronaldo. Once Ronaldo got his goal, Portugal really let loose and went in on the attack at a more natural pace…..or at the very least that's how it looked when I watched the game

  9. I don’t see Portuguese making it past the knockout stages cos it was a win for Ghana but we clearly see that the referee was favoring Portugal.
And I think that penalty was a very special gift from the referee 😢 Ghana was robbed.

  10. The fact that they didn't really talk about Ronaldo's foul on Djiku , kinda proves the point of them having a bias against Ronaldo. Regardless if the whistle blew before Ronaldo took the shot, no one stopped on that play, not the defender trying to cover him nor the goalkeeper. It should have counted

  11. The thing isnt that Ronaldo isnt a great player. Instead, its an irony for such a iconic talent who can score any type of goal he wants but he chooses to dive like a kid for a cheap goal.

  12. It disgust me how you now need acting classes to become a football player. These dives and pretending should be identified by VAR and the players sanctioned. Players are getting taps on their shoulders and holding their faces when they are on the ground. It is an absolute disgrace

Portugal ganhou, deal with it! Ponto final!

  14. This is so embarrassing for Ronaldo. The entire game was too dramatic with Ronaldo caught pulling stuff from his pants (shorts) into his mouth, dubious penalty to Inaki's incident. Was Inaki's leg held by the keeper?. I know the Black Stars are mentally tough to focus on the subsequent games. FIFA IS MESSING WITH OUR GAME (FOOTBALL) by protecting the so called big teams
