The defense of this overt dive shows either a lack of experience and/or a lack of objectivity and this discredits these arguments, throwing them into the realm of fanaticism.

Yes no doubt it's a soft penalty, but the fact is CR7 did touch the ball first and Ghana player did contact his leg which tripped him in the BOX. So it is what it is tbh. For me this penalty is like a redemption for the first disallowed goal he scored. And it's fun to see how they contradicting the things that they have said.

That's an absolutely embarrassing "penalty" to call. No official should be able to sleep on good conscience making that call. It was ALWAYS said that you don't call for a penalty unless there's a clear opportunity won that was being taken away by an opposing foul. Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Salisu touch the ball near-simultaneously, and CR7 takes himself out of the play. If anything, he deserved a warning for the flop. Calling that a foul COMPLETELY going away from the spirit of how a game should be officiated.

It felt like Portugal was all in on helping their teammate Ronaldo get his world record. Players weren't really taking shots at goal as freely and would instead hold up the play to find a pass to Ronaldo or rotate the ball out to another player that is able to pass to Ronaldo. Once Ronaldo got his goal, Portugal really let loose and went in on the attack at a more natural pace…..or at the very least that's how it looked when I watched the game

I don’t see Portuguese making it past the knockout stages cos it was a win for Ghana but we clearly see that the referee was favoring Portugal.
And I think that penalty was a very special gift from the referee 😢 Ghana was robbed.
