Relaxing walking tour of Peniche, Portugal, with detailed historical information and context! Located 90 km (56 miles) northwest of Lisbon, Peniche is a picturesque seaside town that was as island until the 16th century, and is now located in a peninsula, due to sediments transported by the Atlantic Ocean.
Peniche is best-known these days for it’s world-class north and west-facing beaches, which attract thousands of travelling surfers every year, as well as for the Peniche Fort, a 16th century fortification with a turbulent history.

  18. O Forte de Peniche, já no séc. XIX foi usado como prisão.
    No séc. XX, durante o Estado Novo foi também usado como prisão, para criminosos/terrorristas defensores do estalinismo e que queriam destruir e empobrecer os portugueses, como conseguiram depois de 1974.

  27. Achei muito diferente de todos os lugares que mostrou nem parece Portugal . As vezes lembrava Grécia não sei se alguém teve essa impressão talvez pelo céu bem azul e muitas casas brancas essas pedras uma sensação de ilha sei lá foi oque senti muito bom aguardando a continuação . Boa semana.
