Today’s video is all about the wonderful world of water tanks and outdoor plumbing!
I’m excited to show you a couple of seemingly small changes to my homestead’s plumbing that will make a big difference in my day-to-day life. I’m off grid and don’t have water plumbed inside my house (yet!) so I need to head outside to get it and the changes I’ve made will make that a lot easier. Plus I move a giant tank which clears space for other important jobs.
I also head out to collect drinking water, give a little tour of my water pumping system, talk to the cat a bit, and meet friends for coffee at my local cafe here in Central Portugal.
I hope you like this video, please like it and share it around if you do and I always love getting comments so feel free to say hello. Thanks for watching!

Good job! Thanks for sharing your progress.
It’s a no-brainer that work halts to enjoy a coffee and delicious pastries with friends! I am interested in your plans for a tool shed and wonder if they include a “Murphy bed style” foldout workbench or roof or anything? But then I’m just snoopy 😂
Yay for progress! For some reason, I got a much better idea of the spaces around your house from this video. Coming along!
Well done! We’ve tipped into winter in Edmonton but you have me anxious to get going on outside chores.
Wow. You were busy! Great idea with the tàp. I wondered why you chose not to have a tap indoors. Same idea as for the gas pipe
Well done 👌🏻😉
Excellent job well executed. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
What a hard work. RESPECT!. My husband and I can only both those tank move. You can realy be happy. Great👍
The cat looks worried about your moves😂. Another thing, you're Canadian, what cold weather are you talking about🤣
Uma dica para a entrada da sua casa para se proteger da chuva (um pequeno telhado por cima da porta) aplicado em muitas casas, nas aldeias em Portugal.
Another fantastic job done single handedly you keep impressing us all that anything is possible 😀 👍
Great progress – one step forward is huge progress … Congratulations and keep up the good work !
Kirsty have you ever considered having a dog great companion, you work hard, and sometimes you sound so much like your father he was a great laugh, take care.
HELLO KIRSTY…ALWAYS WONDERFUL TO SEE LITTLE MIKEY…HE STEALS THE SHOW EVERYTIME…BUT, YOU'RE A ONE WOMAN SHOW, THAT IS FOR SURE…MAN, YOU CAN PUMP OUT THE SKILLS TO BEAT THE BAND……EVERYTHING ON THE LAND IS LOOKING SO GREEN & FRESH…AND VOILA, WE HAVE INSTANT WATER!…WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR!…ALL THE BEST…;)
Love how you solve the water issue at your house. I will put a low bucket underneath the tap to prevent mud at your doorstep.
give yourself a warm fuzzy!… no not a drink but a self-Kudos a form of Happiness.
wow! your skills and determination are impressive. two people would make the job easier, but your problem-solving skills are awesome!!!
Nice! İmpressive on setting the tank up without help.
well done…proud of ya
Hello!!! You are a capable and creative person in many sections ..Bravo.!! So i imagine to swim in your natural pool-its magic…When are you intent to fix it ?? And you have a neighbor and a beautifull land behind your cottage .Tells us some things for your neighbor ,some history of his house etc and please dont build a wall with these auwfull bricks put some wooden polls ,some plants etc dont spoil the natural image (my opinion) …nice continue…
I'm unsure what your rainfall and roof capture area is but i'm guessing you get more than one IBC worth. Have you considered putting another tank lower down on terrace and filling that for the garden from your first tank?
Well done 👏 do people live in the house next door
Well done! 😊 Love the mismatched socks 😉
