Whoa what an unfortunate story. I hope you find some good fortune in the future . Tell me are still happy with the move from UK ?
I went to university in Manchester and it was a grim place back in mid ‘80s. As a personal issue we spent last summer and fall in Cascais and experienced some shockingly unqualified tradesmen .Theushow up for some plumbing issues in our rental and I’m already skeptical.
You learn a lot looking at their tool bags and vehicles.
I was a partner in a mechanical contracting firm in Los Angeles so I could have run the plumbing issues no problem, but the landlord wouldn’t allow it and I obviously had no tools .I can tell you it’s the same all over Portugal. My friends moved to Lagos , in Algarve and their story with builders is appalling as well. All the real craftsmen have retired and a low barrier to entry has opened the floodgates to the unqualified mobs.
What did you work at in blighty?
Alex the tools u used at jasper, can i still buy those somewhere, what are they called?
Sad to hear the news about the property.
So so sorry . . . I feel for you Alex, Molly and Sandra . . . it’s a v bitter pill when the application of the law is contrary to common sense. I have the deepest reverence for your fortitude and love you have as a family that will ever grow in adversity . . something that will gather strength with patience, grow despite obstacles, warms in winter, flourishes in spring, casts a breeze in summer, and bears fruit in autumn . . .
big hugs to you all
Your deplorable treatment by the local Portugese Law and negative experience in a foreign Land is a Testimonial to what to avoid or be aware of when shifting residency. I am wondering if you might have been better served by having an interpreter to help. What about your Lawyer or was that the one you wouldn't recommend? All the best.
All the best really enjoy the Chanel have similar problems around a house in the Uk ended up with no were to live but got lucky had a mate who had a pub the only room he had available was once a store room we managed just too fit a single bed with no room me and my then girlfriend lived in this room for months for free! This kindness got me started to getting back on my feet this in end led to a move to Australia the gentleman who was from Australia to get here we also sold everything we had to get here other good people also help us out! We have to remember yes there are bad people but we must remember the good ones too?
Our current home is not a store room my wife works with helping family’s with disabilities and I volunteer working with Men’s health through the Menshed movement 👍🏻all the best you will get there 🇦🇺
Life can be so discouraging, and you have had an enormous dish of it. Thank you for not giving up. We enjoy every video. Chow from Michigan
🌟👍🍀💐
Bummer about the court result!
So sorry about, your woes with the court, all I can do is commiserate, cannot even offer a penny living in S.A. at the moment and our currency here is just plain worthless, we have electricity load sheds and water issues, galore, our petrol prices are soaring cos of the Russian situation in Ukraine, I could go on for hours, don't want to bore you, so to put it in context life is challenging and every country has it's bums and thieves and daily issues, we grateful for warm beds and good food, and owning our house gives us some stability, altho we have the constant threat of land expropriation, you in my prayers, chin up the parlour is looking great and the door is big value add, and Portugal is a peaceful country with good weather on the plus side.💜😙
Sorry to hear about the court situation , that lawyer is an idiot to say the least , esse tambem 'nao merece a agua que bebe' . Lovely job on the door .Recently changed job (within the same company) and now i a Robot welder operator ,and im more knowledgeable about welding . Take care guys ,you all deserve the best .
Aaargh, how many ways can you get screwed over. It must feel like you have a band around your bits. You folks are incredible.
Bet you wish you could use one of them rubber rings on the Lawyer !! Keep on trucking, mate, and keep the faith. All the best!
😡 Arggggg ! Karma will have to be your Bitch when you can't rely on the justice system , so annoying , fantastic things are about to happen on this planet , you will be able to carry on building your dream 🤗
What if you tell your story to your local newspaper to speed up the court ? Some people would`nt be happy to see their names in this ugly story, just to let they know to handle you with care. Greetings from Hamburg
I'm so sorry and upset for you. The system has so much room for improvement! I hope and you and your family are repaid tenfold 🙏🏼 another way! She may have gotten away with she did in the court system but karma has it's own court! Continued good wishes.
Here a tip for some wasps killer its 2tbs of boric acid and 1/2gl apple juice Shake it up and put some in a plate are in a small container or a1/2 of can with a stick all around the farm and it also kills ants 🐜 it time to put it out for the queen wasps she is looking for a new place keep your eyes 👀 open 👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️
Sorry bout your crap. So glad farmlng has moved on. These rings, years ago it was docking the tails with a knife(sheep) and the pinchers for the under carriage. The other one is dehorning (cattle). Only solace I can think about the court, is if it is possible under Portuguese law and accounts is to write off the loss over six years. Kind regards.
As you know I was planning in considering purchasing in Portugal, but I've heard too many bad stories, and after my hisshaps here in the states I might visit, and volunteer to work at your place, but I'm dissolution with the a corupt legal system. I'm so sorry about your being run over by a corrupt legal system. I wish I could help out more, but I've been sick for six months. Please take care.
Hello from Philippines. Well sorry to hear about your problems with the local legal system . Well mate don't let it go – you been screwed over as you are quite aware – local corruption . First Portugal makes a lot of money out of you English people – so you won't be the first to experience this . If me first I would find if they have a ombudsman you can discuss it with and any options. If you get no where find if there is a current affair program that reports on this type of story ( corruption). Third is there a anti corruption commission you can plead your case to – advertise and try and find other British people who have had the same problem in the last 5 years and make it public knowledge in Portugal/England that you are putting together a joint case to a higher court if it possible in there legal system. Get the best lawyer in Portugal who is part of a opposition political party. Once it in the public arena you will get justice. 75000 euro is a lot of money + what others have lost . You have nothing to lose as far as I see . Regards Mick.
