1. Is a boarding pass stating Portugal as the destination from a Schengen country not qualify as legal entry for people who are flying to the country indirectly from another Schengen country? Regardless, are there any specific hotels you would recommend that won't have any issues handing legal entry after a night's stay since I'd rather avoid hotels?

2. Is this indirect route to settle in Portugal through a different Schengen country also applicable for people who work remotely (on contract) from Pakistan/India/Bangladesh for clients in the US/Canada? I'm wondering how they would be able to fulfill that job contract (promise) requirement when they are not working for an employer in Portugal (but instead in US/Canada).

3. When you say 12 taxes, what exactly do you mean? Is that 12 months' earnings worth of taxes? How exactly are those calculated anyway (I'm guessing a certain percentage of total salary for that time period)?

4. What government facilities am I entitled to as I lock my file and work toward that TRC? Does it include free healthcare?

5. Speaking of healthcare in the country, how would you rate it in terms of quality as well as cost?
