Last week, I gave a tour of our homestead in Portugal, including the vegetables gardens, orchard and orange grove. In this week’s video, I show you the beginning of our DIY guesthouse renovation project.

After a long period of contemplation about what to change and how, what materials to use, which look and style to go for, what colours to use and numerous other details, we finally started the DIY renovation.

This is the first of a series of videos of the full renovation, which included:

– Painting internal and external walls;
– Painting wood framed windows inside and outside;
– Painting of all doors;
– Painting kitchen furniture;
– Putting new floors, including in the bathroom;
– Renovating and installing a wood burner;
– Simple insulating methods;
– Hand made, recycled and up cycled furniture;
– and more…
