Portugal launched a Job seeker visa. The Visa has been introduced to cover the labour shortage and will be issued at the Portuguese consulate abroad. The validity of a Visa is 120 days further extended to 60 days concerning an able residency permit subject to a legitimate valid employment contract after entering the country.

The Visa will only be approved if the person has not obtained an entry restriction into the country or another Member State of the European Union (EU).

It will also be compulsory for the worker to have a ticket back to their home country (in case he cannot get a job) and financial resources, called means of subsistence.

Job Seeker Visa holders will only be able to enter Portuguese territory once, so it will not be possible to travel abroad during the initial 120 days or the remaining 60 days if an extension is requested.
