Portugal Low Cost of Living in Portugal Azores Pico Island One of the lowest in Europe Episode 11

On this video we will share what our experience has been when it comes to cost of living during the last 3 months or so. Portugal has one of the lowest cost of living in Europe. Tourists and semi retired people from all over the world are choosing Portugal to either vacation or live.

The cost of living in Portugal compare to Canada and the USA is also quite a bit lower. Things like groceries, utilities, health care, lodging, dining are just a few that make tourists, expats and semi retirees choose Portugal.

You can easily live well in Portugal on a $1000 a month cost of living budget.
Portugal also checks a lot of boxes and leads when it comes to safety, low pollution, nature. health care and much more.

  1. Yeah, what a great video. I'm going to share it on Facebook. Although I don't have a lot of friends but it's still on the news feed so maybe you'll get some more subscribers. 😉
Great haircut too, your looking good for an older guy. Well you're not as old as me.
I'm coming to the Azores to stay for maybe 3 to 6 Months, what's up with the visa requirements ? Can I get a tourist visa by the month or longer ?

  2. All these tropical videos and I see WIND, and lots of it. Is the wind 365 days a year? how about HUMIDITY? do you have months where you can't catch a breath? What the mean temperature dealing with that wind??

  3. Thank you so much for doing this. My mother was born on Pico and my father was born on faial and I was born on terceira. I will be going to Pico in October to settle my parents affairs as they both have passed on I’d love to meet up with you have a lots of questions.

  4. Thank you for the information! Ive been to Lisbon, Sinatra, Cascais… my heart is still there after two years. Would love to explore this absolutely beautiful
country! I love everything I saw!!! Between the food, the people, cost of living… 💝 💝💝💝💝

  5. Just discovered your channel and love your presentation and content. I so enjoy your demeanour, your peaceful, zen like, being. We are from Belgium and only been to Madeira which was a gem. Would love to visit the Azores soon as they look equally stunning and peaceful. I really hope you are right, stating that small, local business's will survive in the Azores. As no where, where big chain supermarkets, or for that matter all big chains, enter the local market, locals thrive. Or it must be so remote, no chain has an interest in moving in. Keep up the good work.

  6. Can I get their insurance for the year even if not staying there more than 3 months? Let me say why. I may be getting a teeth appliance I don't have the time to get here before my trip and this is something I could work online with the doctor (maybe with checkups in another country) but then I ould get back for another month etc. I could probably just pay cash but thinking of the case I would need more teeth work.

  7. What about dental work or Doctor visit (if you don't have insurance). Also re hospitalization, just curious what would happen if you needed to go to the Hospital and didn't have insurance — being Canadian (we're spoiled when it comes to healthcare as everything is covered by our taxes). Also is there a difference if you are Portuguese born but no longer a Portuguese citizen when it comes to Portuguese healthcare. Are you entitled to any free healthcare in Portugal?
