Hi there! I am Joseph.
I have been an immigrant / expat living in central Portugal along with my beautiful girlfriend Mariana for six years now.

Together Mariana, my father Clinton and myself, would like to show you a bit of the daily goings on around our Portuguese farm / homestead / smallholding and all of the work we are doing whilst renovating, starting building projects, working with our livestock, DIY and trying to grow our little families own food!

In this episode we welcome you to join us in late Summertime as we are given a tour around our dear friends’ farmhouse, which is for sale, in a rural mountain village in central Portugal.

We start the virtual tour by introducing ourselves on a beautiful private track leading down to the farm as we explain the location of this wonderful gem of a farm and a little about the surroundings and local amenities.

We begin by walking up the long private shingle track, which gives fantastic access to the farm. Then we step onto the property itself, the first thing we see as we look around is a beautiful large irrigation tank, full to the brim with water, this farm has a few different water sources and that can be seen by just how lush the grass is here, straight after the longest drought in Europe for years!

Mariana and I both walk down the lovely driveway where we discuss a lot of the details of this property and make our way down to the main house, the house is around a 95m2 footprint, with extra useable area downstairs too.

Once inside the house we see that everything is brand new, the kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms and hallway. This could easily be changed to include the downstairs room as a lovely large lounge or a third bedroom, perhaps with the addition of a staircase too!

We check the beautiful patio out next to the house, it is surrounded by a beautiful green balustrade and gets full sun exposure all day as it faces south, with beautiful views to the East.

The land is a nice size where it can be easily managed and not too large where it would become a full-time job. A lot of storage with a very large garage, a small garage, all the space underneath the patio and the large room underneath the main house.

We then check out the next house, this house needs modernizing as the inside is tired, but the walls and roof are excellent condition, so a very small amount of work is needed on this second house. It would make a marvellous bed and breakfast style cottage in my opinion.

Electricity is connected to both houses and water is provided by two boreholes, one for each house and both potable water. There is also a well which is capped, down by the stream that borders the bottom of the farm. This well would provide a nice irrigation should one need it.
