Bit of catching up to do after the last week. Couple of jobs we need to do in order to get the house rendered so we can order the door and windows. Tackling the frames with cement isn’t easy but we got to get them ready so the guy can render the outside. But first there’s a MTB race going through my land in the Algarve hills from Alte. Plus a quick trip to Portimao.
Thanks for watching and following and all your amazing comments and support.

I don’t want to be a know all why don’t you use Irwin clamps instead of rebar to hold your edges tight on my journey of renovations and properties. I watched the lad and he shows so much hope its helpful and stop relying on people who let you down and save money !
Take a look https://youtu.be/-O5r4NhIwSI
Great to see the Alte BTT go through your land! I would have done it had I not been away (my cycling mate who lives in Paderne did the family one with her kids) My complete sympathies re the plastering, how is it so difficult yet the pro’s make it look so easy? 😩😩
top part of the windows doors… maybe some screws with wire between would hold mortar?
Hi Andy, enjoying your lifestyle! Umm,….the front of house with two windows, for light and air…how about repurposing door into a window as well?🤔 The glass will let in light, air and if entrance( if poss) on the side ? Three little windows all in a row!🚴🏊🍊🍋🍳🥞☕⚒️🇿🇦
Hi Andy (from New Zealand)- great videos. Binge watched a bunch recently. Look forward to seeing the progress on the properties. Love the optimistic/upbeat videos. We're hoping to move to Portugal at some stage too. Can I ask what camera you use?

A week and a half and fully up to date from start to current. Working nights has its advantages.

You're living the absolute dream
Thanks for posting and sharing. Cement work looks great.
Sometimes time rules the schedule and your scheduled assistant isn't there and the incomplete roofing needs looking to—for one's peace of mind, eh? Nice work on the door jambs, btw, the suggestion below is spot on. Keep on cracking on, Andrew!
Love to watch your progress.
well done fella wet spong it after much better finnish
Nice Video. I am wondering how big is your garden….. How much ha or sqm do you have?
Andy, you are artistic all the way! Love watching you put your hands on things to accomplish! See you Saturday, my friend!
Did you funish and sell before already ?
12000 and climbing…
Andrew , nice content , how many years of building experience do you have , if i may ask ?
When doing cement rendering against dirt/rock walls you should pressure wash the stones to keep them clean from dirt and prepare the cavities between the stones where the rendering is going to "catch". And before applying the top coat it would be nice to embed a plastic mesh into the rendering to make it more stable and robust. Keep on pushing!
Don't put fence, put speed limt sign , and then send speeding ticket to hooligans….😁
Well patience is a virtue or so they say…you got it done eventually…I'm looking forward to you removing that floor…
Love that town. Thanks.
Heya Andy fabby vid as always . . in case it helps re mortar on vertical surfaces . . like another comment below adding tiling adhesive you can also add powdered latex bonding agent which makes your mortar more sticky . . you can vary its stickiness factor by changing the amount of latex you add 👍🏻
All the best . . looking forward to more of your hard work and adventures
Hello Andy 👋 I always like your videos📹 but I loved this particular episode as you showed the lush green Algarve Landscape in all its glory 🌵🌳🌻 Even at this stage, I can see that the village house is going to have a lot of character. 🌞👩
does the bike ride have right of way on your land? What would happen if you go ahead and build your house there? Do they tell you they are coming or are you expected to know? I guess it wont do anything for your popularity with the town and riders if you build your home on their raceway, what a scenario you have to deal with
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 love you guy, you made it beautiful it's going to be a beautiful house Andy
The bits where you randomly queue in the metal are hilarious! Keep living the life! Cheers!!
I miss the algarve so much. Any video you put up Andrew there’s always progress on your jobs, I love it all well done buddy 😉👍🏽
can't wait to see the mezzanine light up in the daytime once you get the floor out. it will give the floor below a completely different look. Keep it up guys
Enjoying the renovations xx
Are the grips you used for former on the top of the wall just bent bits of rebar, or are they actual tools?
Well done Andy really looking great 👍 stay safe me old mucker 👍
G'day from downunder Andy,
Nice video mate, it's good to see the progress your making. You may be surprised at the price of some of those mountain bikes in that race, they may have cost the same price as your tractor
Andrew and James Jacks of all trades and apparently it seem masters of all of them. 😃🙏 always fun to watch your adventures thank you for taking us vicariously along 🌻🙏🐈🌞
Always excellent
Hi Andy nice town you visited like all the little alleyways with the coffee shops, excellent job on the windows and doors and yet again a great video.

I always enjoy your videos. 😊😊😊 Please don't stop making them!
BTW, that big crack beside the left front window: How come the builders couldn't cover it up when plastering?
