Punk, Walks, and Kitchen Cabinets in My Barn Conversion in Portugal

I rejoice! I’m done with the kitchen cabinets in the Corner of Darkness! It’s been a long time coming but I’m finally saying bye to working on the cabinets and looking forward to some other projects inside the house. On to a new corner, perhaps?

Watch on for a lovely evening stroll, a night of punk (yep!), the completion of the woodwork on my cabinets, some lime plastering, and then putting this gas bottle outside. Finally!

*Thanks for watching!* See you again on Friday for another video!

  1. Even just with just the lime, the light color just brightens the space. I know it’s a ways away but a sky light say abound the kitchen are could be nice for some natural light. In the future… or not. You decide.

  2. You're a brave woman going to the punk rock gig! Just because your ears and brain are so used to the peace and quiet. It must've been a culture shock to the ears lol. Kitchen's really starting to take shape and looking great. Your cabinet looks fantastic, really solid too. What a brilliant stroke of luck with the tub of spices etc 😀. Maybe a top (at some point down the line) like a folding table top? But only the front part folding up and down when needed.

  3. Well done! Great to see the cabinet finished and the gas bottle finally outside. Having your container fit so snugly in and giving you an additional work surface was really a stroke of luck👏🏽

  4. You might have already mentioned this but, we think it would be good to build a little covered or cabinet for the gas tank outside now, so it’s away from the elements ( fire, rain and thunderstorms never mind rain which corrodes them really fast) something simple.

  5. I say, "You nailed it with cabinet! Great job having a temporary countertop snd spice storage just below! I am so exciteed that the gas bottle will now live outside! Slowly you are getting everything done! Congratulations!

  6. It seems like tackling renovation and living in it isn’t for faint hearted . Well done and I bet that cabinet will just make it easier at least in one side of your tiny house.

  7. What a lovely video. You were so funny with your comments. That walk up to meet your friend for dinner was stunning. The lighting and the landscape, wow! So glad you got that part of the reno done. I don’t think people appreciate the difficulty of slowly moving along with a plan while living in the middle of chaos. You are doing an incredible job and entertaining us along the way.

  8. Happy you managed to get the orange propane tank outside of your living quarters. How are you going to manage to insulate it from the baking hot sun in the summer and the cold of the winter?
    Hugs from 🇨🇦
