It just didn’t stop raining! Storm Beatrice came with a massive rain. Many places where flooded and we really had get to work on saving our chickens.
We learn every day on our off grid land. Knowing where the water is coming and going gives us know how on how to manage the land so a massive rain is not making more damage to things we like to create.
We also enjoyed the flooded land and all the water. The sun made it all a little celebration after a long drought we had last summer and winter. There is no doubt on what time of year we are in now! Hello Autumn we love you 🤎
Thank you for supporting us by your encouragements and wonderful tips and advices 🥰

Just avoid transposing your Dutch attitude towards keeping ditches clear and getting rid of water to the situation here in PT😉 The „natural dams“ serve to make the ground saturate with a water reserve. So its a delicate balance between preventing flooding and water retention.
It's amazing you're doing great
Very nice video! Well done Yanick!
Good to see there is plenty of water again! Those wells fill up realy quick 😀
I’m so happy for you that your well is full! 😁
So good to see the start of the rains – will u now make it a priority to finish cleaning and clearing the sides of the winter stream & other one as well ? Look forward to your videos to c the transformation of the land …
The chickens look to healthy! Those are Barnevelders aren't they?
It's normal to get this kind of rain here, we were very surprised our first year here and we're Irish 😉🤣.
You can turn this heavy rain fall to mark off where water accumulates or travels. So when you decide to build or plant you know the areas to avoid and if possible grade the area. Building up these areas with soil from else where in your property. Nature gives us plenty of opportunities for us to improve things where possible.
You need to dig a pond and save all that water
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love you guys, dutch having the time of his life, maybe make a pond where the water stead on your land for ducks or something.
Thank you for another great video! It is wonderful to see the children and Dutch so happily playing in the water. Your land is gorgeous.❤
How about making swelle(?) or a small pond to catch the rain water instead of surface flooding all over the land ? (Dutch Farmer did on his land). Just a thought.😁
Looks like the children are having fun 🤣🤣
With all the rain you can now see which areas on your land suffers the most from flooding for you future plans. 👋
perhaps put the chicken coop on stilts to be on the safe side and as someone else mentioned a hydro system would be great for the rainy season, now you know where water collects also maybe build a pond to store the rain water that you could use for irrigation, great video 🙂
Wow, You are blessed with that much water. What area is this actually?
wow with all that water a hydroelectric system would power your home all winter ❤
never seen dutch people so surprised when seeing rain/stream..lol.
