ABOUT THIS VLOG
➡ It’s finally time for another adventure in Northern Portugal, where so many of you guys have said that this is the REAL Portugal, where you get REAL Portuguese food. Now we get to see if you are right!
We were invited on this trip by Marco Neiva from Oh My Media who also has a vlog.
It’s a so-called Fam-Trip, where influencers and journalists are invited with the purpose of promoting an area. In this case it’s Baixo Tamega, which is close to Douro Valley.
The Fam-Trip is three days long with an action-packed program from morning to evening.
On our first day we meet all the people at the wonderful hotel, Monverde Wine Experience Hotel, where we enjoyed a superb wine-tasting of some of the best wines from the area of Vinho Verde, which we learned is NOT a green wine, as there is no such thing!
After the wine-tasting we went to the beautiful town of Amarante that is a hotspot for Portuguese culture and history. This town is so charming and beautiful that we instantly bookmarked this for another trip, as we only had the evening here to enjoy Portuguese food at the amazing Restaurant Ze Da Calcada. It really was Portuguese food at its best!

NEW HERE?

We’re Amalie and Joen. A Danish couple from Copenhagen who have moved to Lisbon, Portugal.
This vlog is all about showing our new home, how life in Portugal is and of course a bunch of epic adventures around this beautiful country.

We hope you’ll stick around. 🙂

  1. Of course REAL Portugal is ALL of Portugal, but we had to make the joke as a response to so many of you guys (from the North) saying that food from Lisbon isn't REAL Portuguese food, haha! But to be honest, we did get a whole new perspective of Portuguese food on this trip, but you will have to wait for the next vlogs to find out just how good food from North Portugal really is! Cheers

  2. That aint no real portuguese food lol, im yet to see a youtube video with really traditional portuguese dishes, they allways try to make it a fancy plate when its not at all, next time u go to Portugal ask for a "tasco" where u can eat, if they take u to a tiny restaurant full of drunk portugese old people gettin wasted and eatin, ur in the rigth place and i guarantee it would be the most portuguese food u will eat

  3. Portuguese is the biggest consumer of cod fish, we even change a law in European Parlament, allowing us to conserve the cod fish in salt, if not all the good taste is gone with other conservantes…

  4. You can get very good food anywhere in Portugal. However, on average, Portuguese food is much better in the North, because that's the original Portuguese food (Lisbon has one famous dish, which is called "bacalhau à braz" and which I love). The Douro region is amazing, but the Minho region is maybe even better (of course the Douro is the Portuguese capital of wine). Trás-os-Montes has also fantastic meat dishes (very heavy). Porto has a bit of a mix of the whole northern gastronomy.

  5. Amalie's tone is annoying when speaking English while it is quite charming when speaking Portuguese.
That said their videos are getting much better , but who cares about Brazilian vloggers?
Keep the good work! we all appreciate it for sure.

  6. It's true that food in Lisbon is way overpriced than in the center or north of the coutry and not so much traditional. Actually, that restaurant wasn't the most traditional also ahah. Check good traditionals restaurantes at TripAdvisor ans you should find nice ones. And, try francesinha!!!!!!!!
