In this video we continue with the renovation of the abandoned house are digging tunnels for the foundations of the walls, and are installing plumbing for the sewage of the bathroom.
And we are also pouring concrete to make the foundation.
Hi guys, I am Alex.
I am an Ukrainian expat who moved to Portugal.
No one in my family ever did any farming, But I discovered that I am very passionate about farming so recently I’ve purchased this 28 hectares Farm in Central Portugal, with the intention to start a small scale farm raising worms, cattle and sheep.
In this little farm I am also planning to build an off grid home, and be as self sufficient as possible, by growing my own food.
I created this channel to share my journey with the world, The journey of a first generation farmer, that is starting with no prior knowledge and experiences.
That maybe all the mistakes that I will make along this journey, and all the fails maybe will help some of you to learn from my mistake and not make them yourself.
I want to bring value and inspire people who are thinking about farming.
I am not a filmmaker or an editor, I am just a simple guy with a camera.
So if it is interesting to you, subscribe to the channel and you will not miss the upcoming episodes.

Які ви молодці з татом. Дай вам Боже наснаги.
I don't want to be mrs-know-it-all… but did you make the drains fall 2% from the house? (To make sure that the drains drain and not contain the waste in the drains so they block?)
Now I've seen all the episodes untill now – and what an exiting journey you are traveling ❤️
I've been watching and listening carefully to hear you tell about your plans to insulate the floors and walls… but you haven't?? What I heard anout Portugal houses is that the old ones are cold and damp in the winter because of no insulation
Alex your progress is amazing, your sweet Angela Davis is a lapdog, and your Dad is a straight up bad azz. Keep sending us these great videos! When do we get a property tour?
Alex and Dad, keep up the good work, great viewing. Love the love for the sheep ………….. so Ukranian !
Do you have a constrution permit from the local authorities? Building and renovations in Portugal must be aproved by the legal authorities. did you submit your plan to the "camara municipal", if not you´ll have to, in order to have a legal address.
Hello! I am new subscriber. It all looks great! Let's enjoy the journey!! Greetings from Tasmania!
ALEX YOU AND YOUR FATHER ARE FRINLY PEAPLE AND I LOVE OLSO ANGELICA SHE IS LIKE A DOG INSPECTOR .FROM BELGIUM
Later owner returns how ..bang bang thank you ..
Why not extend outside the sewage pipe instead cutting it inside the building?
Im not plumber but drain should not have some degree slope for gravitation drainage?
Never seen concrete foundation for inside walls. You going to add 4 inches floor concrete all over inside? The walls inside they will be not too heavy = drywall or light brick. I would not go with foundation for that.
Plumbing again: never seen concrete over plumbing inside of the building.
For me it is waste time, material, your effort. Later fixes, alternations will be pain of the ass.
You do rebar on heavy traffic areas for electrical underground. This is just house…
Best regards
Hey! New to your channel and I'm enjoying it so far. I LOVE your sheep!!!
I came across your videos while browsing. You have piqued my interest hence I decided to be a subscriber. I'm enjoying every one of your videos. You're doing a wonderful job you and your dad. I will be with you on this journey and my prayers are with you both. Watching from 🇯🇲♥
The first hole you opened don't close it!
From there you can take out the ventilation of the drainage pipes.
the hole in the wall is an old arab thing called (mishkah مشكاة) its used to put an oil lamp(light) in it it gives you more light . and you can raise the wall using wood as a horizontal (H) to have 2 floors in your home good luck.
Looking good.
Hi Alex, Excellent video as always!! So excited about following your progress. I feel like you are creating a Journal for me for when I attempt to do the same. We are taking notes! Lol! All the best Juliet.
I forgot to say to you be careful with this weed not sure if you may know it can’t be harmful to livestock I had loads of it on my land and you have to take it up from the root and burn it might not be able to do it this time of year in Portugal but put it in a bin with a lid on until you can burn it I noticed you’ve got some in your field.
Ragwort is a potential killer. It is poisonous to livestock. Eating ragwort can lead to liver damage which cannot be treated. Cattle and horses are particularly susceptible to poisoning by common ragwort but sheep are also susceptible.
Just an added note, I really wish you'd get yourself some eye protection for when you're using tools that break up stone. Those shards that shoot off of such tools can be fast and sharp!
Okay now Alex, I've watched all your videos so far, so I feel fairly confident I haven't missed the one you promised where you show all the stuff you found while clearing out the inside of the ruin in the beginning. Are you still going to show us? I'm really curious! 🙂
Btw, great job on this renovation and on the filming! I'm really enjoying your content! Please keep it up!

Go ahead, Alex, you're doing well with the great help of your father. But, please protect yourselves from the dust. Don't underestimate the damage to your lungs.
Great job. Y’all are really hard workers!! 😄
How big a boulder do you think Murphy has buried, exactly where your septic tank is going to be? 🙄😂👋
P.S. I think dad has designs on your girlfriend, just saying.😂🤣😂🤣
Interesting that you concreted over the drain pipes……is that the norm in Portugal….??
Also…..how do material prices stack up in Portugal…? I'm looking at buying a "doer-upper" in Portugal also…. 😎😆👍🏻

Hi Alex, like watching your videos with you and your dad keep up with the great progress. Been watching your videos since you started. Neil from England 😄 , and not for getting sheep 😄👍
Great job. Really moving along
Hi alex please save yourself put on the musk to prevent you inhale the cement dust
Alex, are you Portuguese?
Love watching your channel. You and your father are hard workers, especially in the very hot weather that you are having in Portugal at the moment.
I have a few observations on the pipes that you have laid. Do you not need two pipes, one for grey water (for your sink and shower) and the other one that you seem to have laid, being your soil pipe (Toilet waste). Another potential issue that you might have is the 20mm or 22mm pipe that you laid alongside the soil pipe should be put in a conduit pipe, according to building regulations. I am assuming that the 20mm or 22mm pipe is for incoming water?
There is another YouTube channel that has recently done a similar thing. You might want to watch their video on their channel. The channel is called "Make. Do. Grow." The video that I suggest that you watch is called "Making a small hole in a thick stone wall".
I hope you find this useful…
we lay pipework on pea shingle did you check the fall
