Renovation of Ruin in Portugal (#15)

Still working on my little stone house in Portugal.
I must say it is not an easy thing to do, but very rewording at the end of each day, seeing the progress I made since I started, might not look as much to you, but for me its a lot.
thank you for all your support 🙂
when I’m having a hard moment I like to remember how many viewers are watching me and the good spirit inside me rising up again.
I LOVE YOU!

  1. I LOVE that your neighbor brough some of their cherries to share with you! Such a simple act but says so much! That type of love and sharing is what most of us are after when we make the decision to live in the Portuguese mountains! Community, simple living, nature, slower pace….I think that was the best part of this video!! Yahoo! Keep goin!!! 💚

  2. Your neighbors probably have old scaffolding you can borrow or rent. They have already worked with such stone houses and can help you. Tell you things, show you where to get materials. Advice so on … Where to get trades… So on…. Ask them.

  3. Dude, those logs are rotted on inside. The nearby lumber mill can cut you new, good ones.. for cheap. Plenty of trees around. No point to spend all this money and one day your floor collapses

  4. I saw that log fall….and I thought, that is the end of osher…. Oh, no.. thank God no incident….. Be careful, please… Thank God you are getting help….. Finally helmet, goggles and now you need dust mask..good one.

  5. That was terrifying. It was such a relief to hear you're getting help as work this dangerous should not be done alone. If that roof fell in on you, it could be hours before anyone noticed you weren't around. With company, you can decide together the safest way to get the job done and look out for one another. Some of those timbers you're removing could be used as props on either sides of the walls till they're properly supported.

  6. “Grão a grão enche a galinha o papo”
It means slowly you’ll get there, good work and make sure to always enjoy the journey, not just the end product.
Beautiful project close to Guarda and beautiful Serra da Estrela ❤️

  7. Maybe you should keep an eye open for a caravan to buy. You're going to be working for many months/year fixing your home. A caravan will provide good shelter, a bed, a place to cook, a place to keep personal items. An a place to keep your emotional needs, spirits up. An a place for guests to stay. If you have to fix an area to park it safely, then you need to do that. Living in your car is okay temporarily, but in the long run it will break down your personal needs for a scent of home. Maybe one of your neighbors will allow you to park at their place for a short time. I have noticed may people rebuilding a ruin, are living in a caravan. You need a place to be comfortable after a hard days work. Please consider this option!!!! Example 1996 Caraviar Siler 375, Villa Nova de Famalicao. $5005 (don't know what form of money weather US dollars or Euro) has water tank, stove. fridge and more.

  8. Your music choice is just like mine ! Awesome keep it up ! Your working very well on your own but help will be great boost for you and the company will give you added momentum. 👍🏽😎

  9. So this is a real shoestring budget project. You are saving all useful material for recycling, more you reuse less you have to pay to haul away, less you have to buy. Good to hear that you have friends coming to help, if I was in your region I would also like to help.

  10. OMG Osher you are a trip!! So funny! And I love your musical choices. I could watch your antics all day. Keep up the great work. 🤣🙏 👍 🤗 ❤️🇵🇹❤️
