Em Março de 2022, esteve em residência em Castro Marim o norueguês Erik Dæhlin, compositor que trabalha nas intersecções entre Som, Imagem e Texto, produzindo peças de música de câmara, música electroacústica, instalações e outras formas híbridas, e cujo trabalho de investigação académica se ocupa da Memória enquanto material artístico.
Entre os dias 13 e 24 de Março explorou diferentes locais e ambientes do Concelho de Castro Marim (incluindo a Reserva Natural do Sapal de Castro Marim e Vila Real de Sto. António, com foco particular no delta do Guadiana), e registou as suas impressões em forma de textos, gravações sonoras e fotografias, materiais que trabalhou com vista a uma performance / instalação que decorreu no dia 25 de Março, no Castelo de Castro Marim, e que posteriormente foi espelhada numa instalação apresentada no festival Only Connect, em Oslo, no final de Abril.
Esta foi a primeira das residências artísticas com curadoria da nyMusikk, parceiro norueguês do projeto Particular Universal, financiado pelo mecanismo EEA Grants, cujo tema é “Memória, Identidade e Paisagem em Castro Marim”.

In March 2022, Norwegian artist Erik Dæhlin, a composer working across Sound, Image and Text, creating chamber music pieces, electroacoustic music, installations and other hybrid forms, and whose academic research work explores the concept of Memory as artistic material, was an artist-in-residence in Castro Marim, Portugal,
Between the 13th and 24th of March, he explored the different places and environments within the Castro Marim Municipality (including the Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António Marsh Natural Preserve, with a particular focus on the Guadiana river delta), making a record of his impressions through texts, field recordings and photography, all of which he worked on to create a performance / installation which took place on the 25th of March, at the Castro Marim castle. The following month, in late April, this work was also evoked in an installation by the artist at the Only Connect festival in Oslo.
This was the project’s first artistic residency curated by nyMusikk, its Norwegian partner.
