Road-tripping Portugal’s most UNDERRATED cities! (2022)

Olivia and Nathan here!
If you want to see more in Portugal than the big three – Lisbon, Porto, and the Algarve – then we’d recommend checking out these smaller cities and towns: Óbidos, Nazaré, Coimbra, and Aveiro. Portugal is very road trip friendly and easy to town hop! And it can be done very affordably! Highly recommend!

  1. About the ability of english speaking maybe is because in Portugal we listen a lot foreign music (british and american) and don’t double anything from movies, to tv series (cartoons for kids is an exception and was not always like that) everything has subtitles and most portuguese prefer them. So adding to our school system that teaches english/french/german/spanish from early on till College. So we are used to listen other languages so I guess it makes it easier.

  2. Hello dear blogger, I have been following your YouTube channel for a long time. Your video production is very good and your testimonials are cool too. I hope to communicate with you in depth, look forward to your reply, and conduct business with you—-

  3. surprised your surprised at the Brits and Germans THEY BUILT THE TOURIST INDUSTRY IN THE ALGARVE. IF it wasn't for them the area would have remained in deep poverty after the sardine industry was destroyed by political means

  4. The algo introduced me to you two about 10-days ago. So, I've watched about a dozen of your videos. You guys are a tad young for my usual RV watching on the 'Tube but I have to say your video work, b-roll, editing and story telling is really top notch. Great work.

  5. BEAUTIFUL! What a lovely and charming destination. So glad to see you guys back exploring the world and sharing it with all of us. You guys also look like you're staying in amazing shape, must be all those stairs haha! Another awesome video, can't wait for the next one!

  6. We live in Obidos, just outside the castle and beside the aqueduct. Right now the entire castle is partying medieval style until July 31. The festivals and fairs really bring the magic to the area. lol very funny about the GOT comment regarding walking the wall. Enjoy your time in Porto and happy travels.

  7. They put signs to warning you about the danger to walk in the walls of the Óbidos (or any castle) in Portugal. If you are adult it's your responsibility if you fall. You going to lose in the court if you try to sue the city/town. the judge literal ask you, can you read? Dont you see the signs? Are you adult? Europe dont have the mentality of sue everything and everyone. The things cost a lot of money in your country because business need to have a cost of good insurances to have the capacity to pay if someone sue the business. If the a if a wheelchair user need to enter a store and cant enter they can sue for a lot of money. In europe if the store have space to build a wheelchair ramp the city going to ask them to do it, but if they cant build one (not enough space), that's life.

Even if you fall and need to go to hospital you going to pay the fees, of course a public hospital even if you stay one month never going to pass the 180€ out of pocket. My girlfriend before come to marry me in Portugal, she travel to Portugal and in the process of her VISA the insurance she had expired and need to go to a Hospital and stay for one week there and out of pocket was about 126€.

  8. Wow! I can't way for the Porto video! I really like your view on my country. The pace, the joyful and witty disposition, and, especially, the effort to say 'empada' instead of 'empanada'.
You should explore the interior. Places like the upper and the international Douro valley. The castles around Monsanto where the Game of Thrones prequel was shot recently. Tomar and the knights templars where the Man who Killed D. Quijote was shot. Évora, the roman temple, chapel of bones and Cromeleque dos Almendros, the great great grand father of Stonehenge. Well, maybe another time.

  9. You're showing me so many places I didn't know existed I wish I had my grandfather here still to share his memories of our homeland unfortunately he's been gone for a long long time thank you so much for putting these last two videos together outstanding work you guys outstanding

  10. Little advice about driving in Portugal, don’t travel on fast lane unless to pass slow traffic, and don’t pass slow vehicles from the right, it’s ilegal, It’s a huge fine , let’s not even mention about holding your phone while you’re driving oh boy you’ll be in big trouble
