I was just going to buy a condo in Ukraine glad i didnt. I'll wait till the war is over, i'm surprised the hryvna hasnt moved much you would expect a plunge of the currency during war time. If russia takes over the country perhaps the previous citizens won't want to go back and sell their house for almost free, we'll have to see what happens

As a Canadian, I was not able to buy Russian stocks through my Canadian bank because of sanctions. Is Interactive brokers allowing western investors to buy Russian stocks still ? Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks a lot !

Good analysis however as stated by phillip fisher war should ot be part of an investmenr thesis obviously this sounds silly right now. The only I could say is just pray you mentioned your well hedged like for instance in latin american agriculture but that will also be affected most likely because Russia is the biggest fertilizer exporter in the world of which Latin America is a major destination.

Second if the war in Ukraine creates a disruption in for instance food supply to the middle east of which Egypt is a major import it mostly imports from Russia and Ukraine we could see a second Arab spring coming and that could again effect the Far east which is highly dependent on middle eastern oil. This again could spike a naval war between Japan and China over the control of limited to their respective countries.

Again far fetched all of this but somewhat of a real scenario man this just could get very ugly.
