For the last episode of the “Travel Photography in Portugal” series, I’ve decided to show you two of the most stunning locations near Lisbon: Sintra and Praia da Ursa. 🇵🇹
In the 1st part of the episode we’ll be exploring Palácio Nacional da Pena (Pena Palace), which looks just like a fairytale castle. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. You’ll definitely see why with the drone footage I got from there. 😍
I’ve also taken some ambient portrait of Irina; there I’ve used the Sony 85mm f/1.8 lens (great lens, find my review here (
The architecture of the palace is just incredible, but as it’s so famous it attracts a lot of tourists. That’s why I needed to get back to the wilderness. 🏞️
For the last sunset of this trip, me and Irina decided to go to Praia da Ursa, a less-known spot which is pretty difficult to reach. It is considered being the most beautiful beach of Europe, and I can totally agree on that.
The scenery it offers is just incredible, and it made me feel like being in Iceland (even if I still haven’t been there).
The rocks have been sculpted by years of strong winds coming from the ocean, and the result is magical. ✨
We’ve stayed there several hours, so I made sure to take a vast variety of shots: long exposures during the afternoon, drone footage, portraits at the beach and an absolutely epic blue hour. 🌅
This was simply everything I could ask from this day, and I’m incredibly grateful to have found the perfect weather to capture the travel photography images that I had in mind. 📷
