  1. You are my inspiration to dump where I live and move on. I would love to find something like you have. I would love how you were able to find this property. I have to get out of the City. I have had my car stolen three times and it’s not being taken again. I live in Washington and we have mountains everywhere. Just have to find that special place. Cheers to you!

  2. I would do a canvas cloth on the ceiling in your landry room. You would use drop cloth and do a frame of (just like a picture canvas.) Wood you can do the same thin on the ceiling or on top of the canvas. Note this was a type of ceiling that home settlers would do on planted grass roofs – log roof with dirt and grass on , then inside useing the canvas of their wagons. This kept dirt from falling down on everything. These were Tempary homes until better ones were built. In homesteading looking at settlers and pioneers homes and how the lived can teach you a lot. Like the inside open box were logs can be reached and outside filled weekly say. Wail others had in stacked under pole barns in locations to be able to block the worst of winds as it sink down to let spring and summer wind by to cool the house.

  3. English Family, I am so happy to hear that you feel at home here in Nova Scotia 😊 It’s a huge relief I’m sure that the boys have settled in well at school ❤️ I can’t wait to see all your future plans for the homestead and the other property! One heck of a long and ambitious honey-do list but I have no doubt it will all be beautiful! 🤟🏼

  4. Elysia, Y'all are such a precious family, you don't know what a joy you are to watch. I know I am probably not the usual kind of person that watches your videos, but I love living vicariously through your building projects and family adventures.

  5. I'm not sure why anyone would think you were wanting to sell this property 🤔 You're simply making your property your dream home. It appears to me that you guy's are truly H❤️ME .

  6. Thank you! Your words were the push I needed to go forward on my house reno–I've been stuck trying to decide what to do–paint trim-not paint trim,…take out walls…I haven't done anything…I need to get a pinterest and a goal board going—yeah–that's the ticket! Thank you girlie for being a great mentor! Love you all back!

  7. With your list of upcoming projects, have you ever considered investing in a portable bandsaw mill? Since you have access to product and it’s obvious you’ve both got lots of ambition and smarts, it seems like something to consider. 🙂

  8. You had me in tears, you and your family are so nice and so sincere. I hope you get to build and do everything you want! You so deserve it.

My family and I have recently moved here (NS) from Ontario too and we love it as well.

  9. Good for you and Phillip to be such a great team and role models for your sons. This is an ideal property and home, in spite of its condition when you moved in. Really the bones were great and you got lucky that someone took on the window replacement before you.. but you are definitely adding so much value to the house and making it your own. Looking forward to the deck project because I also think that has infinite potential with the setting and views you have.

  10. I know for me, there is no way I could leave that "babbling brook"….. beautiful view and such a lovely home(especially now that there is a kitchen/pantry room) can't wait to see how it all turns out!!!….there will be no stone unturned or left unfinished….. that's one of the things I like about your channel….. thoroughness!!!….I'm so glad you still have tons to do, that means plenty of videos to come…..

  11. I think this is the perfect place for you. Lots for the boys, yes, including Philip, to do. You had so many trees down on your property you could cut a lot of firewood yourselves. I'd love to see a few goats there and maybe milk & make cheese to go with your chicken eggs. LOL I could start a long list myself and don't even live there! LOL Maybe one day a floor plan with highlights of what is finished, what needs a little work, what needs a lot of work and the places that you want to add a closet or the porches/deck would help a lot of us. Color codes would help too. I love these types of videos and a little Trash to Treasure stuff would be fun too. I know Little Blue will bring in some extra money to help with things to do on the property. But you need to spend money there to make that happen. I'm looking forward to all of it! I love your channel and you have so much happening! I just hate it for y'all that wood went thru the roof. HUGS~Donna

  12. Love your family so much!! I look forward to your posts-you guys are so happy it makes me happy! You mentioned about building your dream deck with wood. Would it be better with your weather to build it with the trex (I think that’s what it’s called 😂) decking? Also, since you get the algae on your house a power washer is amazing!

  13. 💚We see the love you have for your home and community on a regular basis. How lucky is your community to have a family such as yours living in and loving that old house-bringing it back to life, and creating on the land that surrounds it.

  14. Once a kitchen is complete the rest just falls into place. A forever home is never finished. It will transition as your family grows. I can totally see your family here until your golden years. Then, maybe you would retire to a smaller place. Like little blue sky cottage. Love the work you guys do.❤️
Maybe pass the property onto the boys or rent it for air b&b when you are empty nester's.

  15. Your thoughts you share on your channel is only one of the many reasons I love watching your videos. The life you guys live with your boys is so beautiful and enjoyable. I love the way you are raising the boys with love and teaching. So many people could learn parenting from y’all.

  16. Elysia, it is such a wonderful place to live and I’ve enjoyed watching the transformations you’ve all made so far, along with all your other videos, showing various adventures on and around the property! Keep up the good work! (I even bought a pocket hole jig because of your inspiration!) Kind regards to you all from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧😊💕
