Beijinos e abraços,
Carissa, Iwan, Frankie & Albi

Carissa, Iwan & Frankie decided one night over a bottle of wine that moving from North Wales to Portugal would be a good idea. Within a month they were on the road to Portugal to find the perfect piece of land to call their new home. We picked up Albi the cat along the way. Subscribe to follow our journey as we turn an old stone barn into our home, and learn the ropes of looking after a piece of land to make an abundant garden and one day, our very own winery.

  1. Enjoying your vlogs from Aotearoa New Zealand. We live on 1.1ha (3 acres) overlooking Tasman Bay. Although we are not off grid we grow most of our fruit and veges. I make sauces relishes, pickles and dehydrate a lot of the fruit such as persimmons, pears
plums and apples. Best wishes for your foray into pickling.

  2. Do you have a patreon account? On some of the chateau YouTube accounts they have different levels of patreons maybe offer special content. They use the funds for renovations of the chateau. It could work to help you purchase the land. Go for it. The pup looks happy.

  3. Nice video. Make a plantain and calendula salve to put on your bruise, It will prevent scaring. No riding and filming next time. Put the camera on your tripod. Ride away and come back. LOL 😂😂😂 Your place is coming on Lovely. Blessings.

  4. Maybe a down payment on that land with payments over time. You can always pay off quicker if opportunity comes along. Having people right behind you could be disastrous. Example: someone using that area as a pig pen. While pigs are wonderful they are messy (flies) and noisy!!

  5. A piece of agricultural land like that is worth no more than €1500 – €2000 at best. However, TO YOU it is worth more because it abuts your house. Is there a way to have it valued by a professional? A small fee might be worth spending to get a true valuation, then approach your neighbour with the valuation . . . . .

  6. I do hope you guys can get that land at a reasonable price. That was a nasty fall from your bike. Yikes! I literally gasped when you went down.
Diogo is doing so well and he loves you all so much. Love to see Frankie, the chickens and kitties.
The potatoes looked great. The picked onions and plum wine should be lovely when they are done.
Glad the weather is not so hot as it was. Looking forward to seeing those tomatoes. Best wishes guys. Try some witch hazel on those bruises.

  7. Buying property is such a delicate thing with family owned farms. They are a lot of responsibility. Especially if you don’t live there. 1000€ an isolated acre with a well is a very good return. Combined on a deed would be ideal for all parties. Nice well maintained.
