SMALL TOWN ROMANIA (ATTILA'S CHILDHOOD HOME)

We have arrived in our 15th country of the year, and that country is no other than Romania. Our first stop in Romania is a small city called Odorheiu Secuiesc also known as Székelyudvarhely. This is actually the city that Attila was born, and grew up in, so in this video, we give you a small tour of some of the landmarks from Attila’s childhood. We are very excited to start exploring this beautiful country and showing you more of what it has to offer.

  1. Transylvania was NOT taken over by Romania.
Romania is not Hungary to take over by force other people lands.
Romanians are Europeans, unlike the Asian Hungarians.
Transylvania joined Romania after a long time of Hungarian nationalist, barbaric rule where the native people (romanian people) were treated badly and subject to forced maghiarization.
Romanian people were not allowed to build churches nor buildings in romanian style. They could build only small wood houses (to be fast demolished if needed), while the minority represented by Hungarians were building high buildings and churches.
This are universal facts, not Romanian or Hungarian.
Romanian people are peaceful, that's why there are large Asian (Hungarian, Gypsies) communities in Romania.

  2. When you had canyoneering in Cebu , PHL , Atillas culture of his origin is detectable & the way he present himself i.e. the way he dress , the manner of his speech , etc . Although he migrated to Canada. With this vlog , of what country he came from it confirms.

  3. Awwwwe I love it, so nostalgic for you Z!!! So nice to go back home n visit all your friends n family. Equally nice that Zae gets to experience all the childhood stories 💙 Welcome home 😊

  4. Great video exploring Attila's Hometown. It is amazing to think that the church were Attila was baptized was built way back in the 1700's. They sure were able to build beautiful buildings, before having the benefit of modern machinery. They were built so well to still be standing and actively used today. In order to be able to rent a car in Romania do you need an International Driver's license?

  5. Some small corrections: the population of the town is around 35.000 and the percentage of romanians is higher than 1-2%.The hungarian population used to be 98-99% as you said back when you guys moved, now unfortunately we have a bit more romanians, but still just around 5-10%.

Other than that great video, I’m curious where you’ll go in Transilvania next 😀
