Read the journal: Part 37 of our Europe Road Trip and I find myself waxing lyrical about a rocky outcrop on which camping Pueblo Blanco is situated. We decided to head inland as a bit of a contrast to the beaches and end up on this barren, rocky outcrop a couple of kilometres outside of the village of Olvera, north of Ronda.

Camping Pueblo Blanco is literally just a stony, sandy hill with a couple of trees planted on it. Sizeable, terraced pitches offer no relief from the sun nor wind, let alone a soft space for your tent. But I love it!

The views are amazing! Probably a good thing that they couldn’t grow olives here so we have the height to look out over the valleys full of olive groves and the mountains on the far off horizons. It is cold – which means fewer people about, so we share the camp with perhaps a dozen others, in caravans, chalets and the ever-present campervans.

There’s not much here, but all the better for it!
