  1. Ahh that old chestnut any opposition that is right leaning is “ a threat to democracy “ . This is continually being said by the EU cartel leaders and the democrats in the USA. I have no doubt further legislation will follow banning any right thinking political party “ in order to protect democracy “. 😂😂😂. What a joke.

  2. Another ridiculous initiative (car restrictions) which will not benefit the working man in Spain. Comes on the back of behaviour control following covid. Who will benifit? The big multinationals supplying these electric vehicles which will only last as long as the battery does.

  3. I remember making my own Xmas crackers my first Xmas in Spain! Many years ago, I used inner tube from loo roll, folded newspaper hat, a silly Xmas joke on a piece of paper, wrapped beautifully with ribbon tied ends, then I asked all my Spanish guests to shout 'BANG' when they pulled them, remember very few people in Spain have a Xmas dinner on the 25th! They thought it was hysterical, and maybe believed for a while, that our Xmas hats were made of newspaper! 😀

  4. Just a quickie. Tenerife produces award winning wines. I can tell you they are gorgeous. However, they only produce enough for home consumption, or at best to share across the islands. Sorry folks, hic.

  5. Superb fast cheap trains linking Spain up is/will raise the economy significantly. Long term planning at its best. The “Spider” will be eight lines when finished. It makes Spain a great place to have a no car holiday too. I live in the Canaries and here they have invested heavily in buses and trams. Clean, cheap, fast. It is reducing car use dramatically. Even more so with the cut in fares.

  6. Final comment about ZBEs. Each municipality can make its own rules as to what is and what is not allowed. They can (and often do) define a tiny area as the ZBE while the suburbs continue to choke. The restrictions are often flaccid, to say the least, like stopping old cars parking on the street but still allowing them to drive around.

  7. Specifically about ZBE in Murcia city: no rush to get a windscreen sticker! They haven't even published a map of where the ZBE limits will be yet. The politicians have blown hot air about a network of cameras connected with fibre optic cables to enforce the rules- rather putting the cart before the horse. No map, no rules, therefore no signs, no cameras, no fibre optic network and no need to hurry to get a sticker. What we do have are weekly pollution alerts, nimbyism over ZBE limits and pedestrianisation plans and vacillating politicians.

  8. ZBE's are a bit of a joke. Almost none of the municipalities of > 50k inhabitants have even published a map delimiting their ZBE, let alone defined what their rules will be. As someone who suffers breathing difficulties after getting a lungful of exhaust from an old diesel, I find this very disappointing. But this is Spain, so I'm not surprised. Doing the right thing and clamping down on gross polluters will probably lose them more votes than it will win, short term – people driving cars with knackered old engines are also allowed to vote.

  9. I feel for the guy who typed "ano". Unfortunately, I've exhausted internet searches on how to type the tilde accent mark over an "n" and I don't think it's possible on my Dell Inspiron 15 laptop. There is a key with a tilde symbol and an accent mark (going the opposite way you would need to write the word "yes" in Spanish), but I've tried every combination of keys to get it to work and just don't think it's possible. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

  10. Hola from Oz ,wishing you and your family Feliz Navidad y Año Nuevo all the very best and hopefully travelling gets easier next year .Keep up the good work ,we are really enjoying and appreciate the videos Regards from Oz.Estrella & Bob

  11. The original Spanish constitution was The Political Constitution of the Spanish Monarchy (Spanish: Constitución Política de la Monarquía Española), also known as the Constitution of Cádiz (Spanish: Constitución de Cádiz) and as La Pepa,[1] was the first Constitution of Spain and one of the earliest codified constitutions in world history.[2] The Constitution was ratified on 19 March 1812 by the Cortes of Cádiz…As long as the people get to vote on any changes made and by 90% of the voting public.. But remember a constitution is for the benefit of the people and not the rich and powerful …. Tony cuenca

  12. 04:26 Great…once again the poor with older road worthy cars pay the price! Really great Spain, after two years of pandemic and now inflation, let's prohibit old cars, so more poor people have to get a credit (if they can) to get a new car to get to work👏 Also, older cars are still allowed outside the big cities, they really think pollution respect city limit signs? It's all about the money and taxes,,💰and not only in Spain, but in most EU countries.

  13. We live in Connecticut (USA, and half-time in Sitges, Spain) but use Christmas crackers every year for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day dinner while in the U.S. Some retailers have them in stores this time of year (Williams Sonoma, for example) but we usually order them from Amazon. Great tradition!

  14. A response to your comment about the writers video comment's lack of putting the tilde over the "n" in his spelling of ano (here I do it again). Our USA do not have the keyboard "n" with the tilde readily available to us. It is possible, but the keyboard's keys have to be reconfigured for the Spanish text writing. The Spanish "n" (and other accent marks) are understood in the context of the note.

  15. So this means that foreign registered cars will also require an emissions certificate just as they do in France and Germany. Easy to get for Spanish motorists but can a French or British motorist get hold of one before entering Spain with their vehicle? I know from personal experience that Germany no longer mails their emission certificates to the UK. France may be the same.

  16. Re today’s video, 19.12.2022 – banning certain cars from entering cities with over 50’000 inhabitants from the begin of 2023. What exactly is meant with “having the correct documents to obtain a sticker for the car”. I presume it is based on age of the car, if so what age ?

  17. Thanks for the info Stuart l have an old car so will need to find out if we can take it into Alicante for hospital appointments, can go by train but not ideal as the hospital is a long walk when not we'll it would be difficult, so l will ask our local garage to see if they know anything .
Happy healthy Christmas to you and your family.

  18. Let's see, the constitutional court cannot avoid voting on a law in the congress of deputies or in the senate, which is where national sovereignty resides, the deputies and senators are the representatives of the Spanish people and have been democratically elected by people. In any case, the constitutional court can study a law already approved by congress and declare it unconstitutional, but after having passed through congress and the senate. Therefore, what the judges intend to do is illegal and is a coup. In addition, the thing about the independentistas is an excuse, what is really happening here is the change that they want to apply to the law to unlock the blockade of the JGPC blocked by the PP four years ago. The mandate of these judges has expired and they do not want the replacement to take place since they are mostly conservatives and under the orders of the right wing of this country.
