  1. I too had Adesla. Easy to get ahold of them by phone/email. Doctor was fine and available for same day appointments, in fact when I'd try to explain things to him, he'd just say come by.

  2. Hi Stu, Fully agree with you about September we always go to our place in Murcia in September as it just starts to cool down and the crowds have gone.
Normally stay for a month or so.
Love the Videos keep up the good work

  3. In my experience the Spanish banks in Spain don’t care about giving customer service. They only care about making money, they charge you for everything, and their favour word is NO. If you want to get the simples thing done at the banks you need to take the day off work and in the end they will give you some reason as to why it can’t be done and tell you to come back the next day. If you have nothing to do with your life, open a Spanish bank account!

  4. Hello stu,do you work in a city that language you school or school are you self-employed ?I am a currently in Alcoy and I am finding a job it very much like difficult to get €12p/h and a lot of the things I teachers are Spanish graduates 😱

  5. Wait a minute, you live in Spain, with a Spanish partner and child, teach there, and have a YouTube site called Spain Speaks, but you'd rather go and live in Portugal? Hardly a ringing endorsement of your chosen country.

  6. Hi stu hopefully I catch a live stream! Now I’m in Spain I’ve arrived to huércal-overa to our first time holiday home, my partner and I both enjoy your channel and the advice it provides, keep up the good work.

  7. Absolutely agree – September is the best month! I escaped the heat and went home to Scandinavia for the summer, but next week I'll be back in Spain to enjoy the wonderful September climate ☀

  8. Sounds like the Green Madness is spreading everywhere. Few will debate the true environmental cost of the Electric Car drive. Where do people think the resources required to manufacture the batteries come from, or how the increase in electrical production will occur!

  9. Spain Low Emission Zones

There are currently 5 low emission zones in Spain. These are in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Valencia and Valladolid. Only the zone in Barcelona is permanently valid. The other zones are weather-related air protection zones and are only activated in the event of severe air pollution.13 Aug 2021

  10. The private health insurance in Spain is so cheap.I live in Melbourne Australian my single private health insurance costs €280 a month.Even with that I sometimes have to pay extra for services

  11. Hi Stu, just thought I would suggest this private health insurance, I totsok it out about o complain2 years ago and no complaints, it's DKV seguros and costs €23,50 per month for a family of up to 8 people

  12. Sorry for the digression. A Spanish coworker of mine married a country Scotsman with a thick accent and they have two sons aged 14 and 12 who were born and spent their early years in London. When the father speaks Spanish their sons laugh at him… but when he speaks English too and the father with them. That's British humour. The Spanish mother says no no no don't laugh on your father!

  13. 3. the bank after they were acquired or merged…. the service is lousy anyway. Spent a total of 6 hours in Benidorm queuing just to show the passport. The local branch had a customer before me….45 minutes to say my card is not working. After a month of waiting for a new one, I contacted them online…she didn't know what had happened and I told her I was going on holiday…then she said she would cancel it and I would have to order it again when I came home…I did and have been waiting for 1 month. In Norway, this would have taken a maximum of a week…the time the post takes-

  14. Liked the video. Recently taken to watching the channel even though I don't live in Spain, although considering it for retirement. I haven't checked all your other videos for info on the various health scheme options so if you haven't done a video on that and other folk have mentioned it, maybe that could be a future video. Just subbed anyhow.

  15. Europeans laughed at President Trump when he talked about dependency in Russia, in particular the Germans, now it might cost them lives during the enter when they run out of gas. Yes, dislike for a personality was more important than reality and now not only Germany but all of Europe is going back to fossil fuels, coal, nuclear etc. idiots for leaders!

  16. Hi Stu, When I lived in Spain, I banked with La Caixa and I signed up for private healthcare with Adeslas. When I fell at home, and hospitalised for four weeks, the care, treatment and professionalism of this company could not have been better. It feels like wasted money until you need their assistance, and for me, every cent I paid was a worthwhile expense.

  17. yea Barcelona has a far left mayor
    and council.

They totally ignore any concerns raised about cyclist's and people on e scooters not that are not obeying the most basic traffic rules , by responding "we pride ourselves on less than 10% of people who live in the actual city of Barcelona, are not using motor vehicles "

now they making whole sections of the city into green areas, which will block the views of pedestrians and the irresponsible people who use bikes and e scooters. 🙄.

They should also make people who use a bicycle or an e scooter for delivery services should.carry insurance not just to cover any potential harm they cause to others , but most importantly themselves.

These people are seem to be the worst culprits and work like dumb drones at the best of times so transfixed on their apps.

  18. I am trying to move to Portugal in Nov this year and have heard it is the same you pay public which I do not mind plus private if you want . Has to be better than the US you pay premiums have co pays and deductibles (usually from 1,500 to 5,000 owing to prem paid) and you still pay either 10% or 20% of the bill. (for a typical hospital a bill could be anywhere from 50,000 to over 100,000 or more) I also noticed Millennium Bank in Portugal is now offering private medical insurance also.

  19. I am driving a UK registered in Europe. I have a German emissions certificate and a French emissions certificate. If every country in the EU issues it's own emissions certificate, it would be possible to end up with 27 certificates stuck to the front of your windscreen. Seriously EU, sort your sh*t out and introduce one certificate for all countries in the EU.

  20. Hi Stue, like your updates and awesome background. Does it mean if you had a choice u would stay in Portugal? Beside the golden visa and crytop taxes is it still better to go to Portugal? Non of these concern myself but just in case, can u give both views for EU members and not. Thank you

  21. Hi Stuart, I spend five months of the winter in Tenerife. No heating required. Just trying to be environmentally friendly, I've invested in two camping showers, which I'll heat up in the sun free of charge. This should provide all the hot water I need – 40 litres, instead of using the electric boiler. Maybe the Canaries could be just the place you're looking for.
