The Regional Government of Madeira created a tester project called Digital Nomads Madeira Islands, with the main concept being to attract digital nomads to Madeira by providing a unique experience.
The Digital Nomada Village is a digital-based community where people from around the globe can connect and to share their digital experiences.
Startup Madeira is a business incubator located at Madeira Island. They offer business support to Madeira Island based companies.
Interview with Micaela Vieira, a project manager with Startup Madeira
– What are you incubating?
We’re incubating entrepreneurs, business ideas, people that are willing to bring innovation to the businesses, to the ecosystem, regarding services, technology, or IT. So, mainly those kinds of areas and sectors. So, our main idea, our main objective is to bring and to boost the innovation sector here in Madeira and to give tools to entrepreneurs who want to increase their business idea even to their business group. So, we are there to facilitate them and we are part of the business network in Europe, so for us is very important to be integrated in this network of entrepreneurship.
– How it works? What can you get?
Startup Madeira it is a part of the regional government of Madeira. We are under the secretary of economy, the regional economy here in Madeira. For them, it is really important to work with us for the economy. So, anytime the entrepreneurs want to join us, let’s say local one, it has been happening, they usually come to us with an innovation idea. And other they want to be incubated in our incubation center here in Funchal, or in Ribeira Brava. To that, we can facilitate them giving consultancy, mentorship, put them in touch with accounting managements, lawyers. Whatever they need to keep growing.
