You're a little off on Juneteenth. It is a celebration if slaves in Texas learning they were free. It was a Texas holiday since I can remember. I don't know if it was officially a State holiday. But in Highschool I went to a few parties in very sketchy places but it was always nice. It was basically unknown outside of Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana until recently.
