Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. It has the most populous urban area in Sweden as well as in Scandinavia. 1 million people live in the municipality, approximately 1.6 million in the urban area, and 2.4 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Outside the city to the east, and along the coast, is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the county seat of Stockholm County.

The strange word 'burspråk' (bay window): Burgspräke was a talk, meeting among Burghers, then it began to also mean the acts they decided on, then such news were told from such a window, particularly from the old Stockholm city hall. 😀
Yeah, 'avsked' is neutral but most often not casual. Similar to farewell I think. To 'avskeda' , though, is to fire (from a job)! 'Sked' means spoon, but in this case it's related to German and Dutch '-scheiden'.
My fav Läkerol is Special.
Fun walk as always with Olov! Feels like friends taking us on a virtual walk. 🥰 Lots of cool looking apartments. Those designer looking houses are interesting and I wonder what the floor plan is. It was deceiving because they actually had three floors, you could see the back of them when you guys walked back.
You should visit Beckomberga in Bromma. The place has some interesting history, it would be fun! 🙂
I always enjoy your walks, but they're extra special when you have a guest like Olov or Madelein. I haven't had Lakerol in a long time, I used to find them in Chicago, but the tiny IKEA here has a very small food section. Guess I'll have to try Amazon or something! I liked the black currant Lakerol best.

We have lots of pizza places in my town but no sushi…. Sushi must be very popular in Stockholm.
