  1. I just paid rent for the year up front for Fethiye. And I have my appointment in 2 weeks. Nervous. They mentioned it may be an automatic decline. They are passed the limit of foreigners here. And they may only do it for Russians and Ukrainians to help them. I’m dial citizen from the US and Iran #mahsaamini

  2. Turkey is a beautiful country right now is to expensive to live ,
The law need to change some of the things like you mention you cannot use your phone for three months also there is a lot of issue which is not right for tourist and for Turkish people, Turkish people just need your money there is no friendship they always after your money , for Turkish people your money is friend

  3. You both are amazing!!! Sure I'll continue following your videos cause they are very useful and you show us the real life in this world. Kisses from Brazil and good luck wherever you go guys!😘🌹

  4. Hey Olga & Rene! Love your videos, made with so much passion, hardwork & transparency. The authenticity makes them special. ☺️
I think you guys are in Vietnam and probably in Da nang. The beach feels similar the ones we saw in Da nang. We visited Vietnam in a May and fell in love with the country after falling in love with Turkey when we visited in 2019. Our two fav countries. You also met Rene in Vietnam and you mentioned in your vlog that you're revisiting your next country so could be Vietnam. ☺️

  5. Hi, thanks for your video, can you tell me, will my smartphone also get locked, if I use my German sim card with my German smartphone? Or only when you put a Turkish sim card in the smartphone? Greetings and good luck!

  6. I think you're in Vietnam right now. I love to see your adventures in South East Asia. Loved to see your video's from Turkeye. We've been to Antalya this year, but only for a few days. We hope to return there, but want to explore more of the world as wel.

  7. Living on a income of foreign currency is way easier. I have lived in Türkiye for 9 years now. There are many pluses like you guys mentioned. I agree with almost everything you guys mentioned. Great content. Thanks for the review.

  8. Olga & Rene, I think you two are either in Vietnam or Thailand. But I hope you two safe travels and loving your experiences and tips from the two of you. To Rene: I’m celiac, lactose free and have soy allergy, but yes, we can still eat although Asia is notorious for soy, but we still have choices – love that you can share more about your ups and down on your travel journey so far with food choices. To both: I’m also looking for a new forever home where I can plant fruit trees and permaculture gardens with homestead in a countryside, but weather (not windy, not much torrential rain & sunny) and safety & affordability are important too for quality of life. That’s why I’ve enjoyed your travel vlog so far & thank you for sharing with us all the tips (pro & cons) for those of us who cannot travel yet. Blessings to you both 🙏🏖🌏💕🐶🌈🦋🎁

  9. Hi guys its great seeing your videos. I am also planning to move to Turkey Ankara for year…. Your videos helps me a lot to understand about the new nation. I need your suggestion on Ankara and cost of living over there. Are $800 enough to survive over there. Please suggest your thoughts….

  10. There is a scam prevalent in Turkey and Mexico. Strangers approach you welcoming you to their country.
Very friendly they offer to take you out to dinner. After a bottle of raki or taquila you can hardly walk.
When the bill arrives, they disappear, sticking you with the tab.

  11. I understand the reasoning why you guys left.. A full years rent is insane .. Good to be fluid and flexible in the world today. Thinking either Thailand or Malaysia? Look forward to seeing your next adventure. 🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍

  12. I am a Turkish citizen, the hyper-inflation that has increased recently has made living conditions difficult, I understand you very well. I'm sorry you left us, I wish you a nice healthy day, goodbye 🤗❤

  13. I'm shocked, and disappointed for this video. Just last week I commented how expensive Turkey is. All the information you gave is true now, but let me add my 2 cents for who consider to move Turkey.

    Let's check a few things:
    1) Turkish people are friendly. Really. Your landlord who increased price 2X in USD (4X in liras) , I'm not sure if a friend does such a thing. Some comments say that it's because of inflation. That's not inflation. Official inflation is 22%, and real inflation is 70% . But our dear, beloved landlords thought it's 400%.

That's opportunism. When bombs exploded several years ago in Istanbul airport, taxi drivers changed their rate 10x immediately that night.

Let's make one thing clear, being talkative is not same as friendly. Turkish people are talkative. Some people are friendly, some are not. Friendliness is not a cultural/racial thing. Just because a person talks you doesn't mean that he is friendly.

If Turkish people were all friendly, then all Turkish people would be friends with all other Turkish people. And we know that that's not the case.

    2) Turkey is a repressive country. I'm not just talking about AKP politics. The opposing party CHP and it's fans are also repressive and they are not even aware that. They have been repressing religious people.

Turkey people always judge other people and think they have "a say" on how other people should live and act.
Since you didn't live turkey long enough, and don't know the native language I don't expect you or any foreign understand that. But many Turkish people leave turkey just because of that.

They want to go to a country to not be judged for who they are.

Did I say that Mehmet guy , shopkeeper who smiles and helps you all the time , is making fun of you behind? No, yes that's the case. I witnessed many times.
Not all Turks are like this but half of them are like that. I'm Turkish too.
    3) stability. You never know what's gonna happen in Turkey tomorrow.
    Sadly.

    4) people are not friendly against Syrians? Why? Ask them . And some people just started think negative about Russians/Ukrainians. Just check Antalya Instagram accounts and read the news.

That is the reality. That's not what I like but the pure reality is this.

You guys sound dad to leave Antalya, believe me you were gonna do it anyways maybe in a year or two.

To live a place, and understand you have to understand the language, culture and history of a country.
If you don't do that, ignorance is bliss.
But some people don't like to be ignorant.
I am an expat who lived in several countries, and I can say that Turkey is at best an average country. It is not hell, it's not heaven.

It may be good for Arabs, Iranians.
It s not good for people who like free speech, free spirit guys,, tattooed, piercing guys, who like alcohol etc. Also 80% of Turkish people are extremely ignorant. They never read a book once in their lifetime.

Turkey is a great country to live 1-2 years, not after that.

  14. Turkyie is an amazing country. I love it. I have been there a lot, just recently in September. I also have studied turkish a bit. 🙂 However the world is big so I very much understand your decision. South east asia is on my next stravel plan. I think you two are in Vietnam. 🙂
