The Unforgettable Abandoned House of Our Loving Grandfather Jaak!

Exploring abandoned places is my hobby and finance it all out of my own pocket and the donations I get from the people who love watching the documentaries we make… A small donation would be greatly appreciated! ►

We dedicate this episode to the memory of our grandfather Jaak, who passed away early this year at the age of 87 years old.

Documenting his place was important to us to create a lasting memory of our loving grandfather. He lived in the house for the majority of his life. Together with my grandmother, they had. nine children, and at one point, all of them lived inside the house. More than two decades ago, his wife passed away, leaving him alone inside the house, but he always found a way to occupy himself. The many interests of Jaak are evident throughout his place, in case it’s pool, cycling, or pigeon fancying. Whether it was a very busy past or more peaceful later years, the house was a home for our family, and together with our grandparents, it will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Rest in peace, Jaak.

I watched the video of your Moms parents home as well it was great.
This video of Grandpa Jaak was real really good as well. Watching Lesley with all those memories was amazing. The sand that your family brought home, in basement was pretty cool to see.
I laughed so hard when you opened that attic door! 😂😂😂 I wouldn't have expected that latter either though.
Old purses that probably did belong to your Grandma ❤
The old radio with all your families names was a great find, glad you kept it.
Keep it up guys you are great together.

  10. Loved this one so much, beautiful memories from a time gone by. Would have loved to see what was behind the door that you said your father couldn’t open anymore because his bed was in the way. Much love from Australia

  11. Hey hey, dear bro Lesley, wow, that is an absolutely wonderful video about the life of your grandfather Jaak and the very sensitive
way how you both were honouring his life! I remember very well, when you told me about the funeral in a whatsapp earlier this year. – Beautiful
    house full of vivid memories!
Of course I also enjoyed seeing finally your lovely brother Jordy together with you documenting the Houben family home.
As a matter of fact I was so deeply touched by these unique personal stories you told in the different rooms of that house. – Lesley, you
are simply the best! I could see and even feel it, how many personal memories are connected with your grand fathers house. – Of course
you also filled it, when telling your own personal stories, with your wonderfully compassionate personality. – I sometimes got tears only
from following you in mind through these rooms and listening to you. A lovely detail are these two beautifully framed cute photographs
showing you and Jordy as kids. Oh, that was so lovely! – I was also very impressed by the different activities and talents of your grandfather.
Wow, he really was a richly gifted man! – Thank you so very much, dear Lesley and Jordy, for sharing this absolutely wonderful and unique
explore in the house of your amazing grandfather. – I also hope to see you soon and wish you from my deepest heart a wonderful
new years eve and then a very happy, blessed and prosperous new year in good health and with many more new and amazing explores.

  12. It was so sweet of you Lesley to share your Grandfathers home with us. I wish I had the same kind of record of the home where my sister and I grew up. It was good to see Jordy again as well. Thanks for sharing with us. I look forward to the next adventure.
