So my Honda Dominator is still not finished so I requested a rental bike and THIS is what they gave me. A 2021 KTM 890 Duke 890 R. What a beast. kTM is calling it the Scalpel and surely is a weapon. Super powerful and I guess super fast. But definitely not for me. It’s hard and uncomfortable and so nervous. There’s no way I’m gonna stay longer than 1 hour on this. Long distance motorcycle traveling is absoul impossible on this one and of course it’s not made for that. I guess, I’m not made for that. It scares the living sh*t out of me and after trying Sport mode once I rather stay in street mode. I am definitely not „Ready to Race“ 😉 Crazy bike really, but at least I can ride. Fingers crossed my Honda is back next week 🤞🏼

Just recently stumbled across this great editing app for the iphone and i am super impressed and loive working with it. This is gonna be my favorite workstation and super practical for on the road editing.Love it!
Final Cut Pro X
For this Video and for all the videos i do at home, not being out with the bike i use Final Cut since for me it was the easiest to use program with a very intuitive Interface and cool colorgrading options.
KineMaster on Iphone
Here’s the link to the IOS App:
Using the Iphone allows me to cut all my videos and clips on the road without carrying the laptop which makes everything so much easier and it’s fun with the app;)
More about that and how i do stuff i will probably explain in future videos.

I am definitely NOT ready to race!😉 who is into sport bikes? Let me know 🤙🏼
Embrace da Powah! 😉
When I first started riding proper bikes (30 odd years ago, and I did MX before that) I started gently with a Yamaha 650 soft chopper, but I grew out of that bike fairly quick. So I got a FZR 1000, last model they made of the FZR, and it came with some extra gogo parts, and that was scary fast! And also very heavy at 240Kg (I am old, might been 235 or so, can't remember but I am sure someone will correct me ;)) That one was really fun, but the tickets came faster than a teenager, so I swapped for a Diversion 900. Now that was a proper touring bike, but seemed really slow (and it was) compared to the FZR. Then I quit my job due to family issues and I lost all my income. I did buy a Suzuki RG250 2 stroke, and it was really quick in the corners, I mean really really quick. But I am 187cm and riding this bike was giving me cramps even before I got on it. Now I just dream of getting a new one. I think it will be a Husqvarna 701 LR or 901 Norden. A bit more comfort perhaps on the 901.
So, what you could and possibly should do is take a track day course with instructors, you will feel so much more in control on a powerful bike, and then even more so on your Honda afterwards.
Hope you get your bike back soon and looking forward to more videos.
Cheers!
Marc you literally could have googled how to repair your bike and fix it faster than the shop
I prefer my old KTM but this is still an awesome bike great video
Better the electric?? 🤣Enjoy the bike👍
Man up Dude..
Kerennn KTM sangat bagus
Qué tipo cámara usas Marc?
Hallo Marc.
This bike beast
Great bike, but I think I'm too tall … (194cm) … thankfully😁👍
Last time I hopped on a KTM it was the Duke II. Scared me shitless. Registration papers said 71 PS ( been fiddled with ). Code brown in my underpants the whole time. I knew instantly that she would kill me. Got myself a R1200GS and I’m happy now
I use my 790 Duke for long tours too. >500 km french alps in one day without any pain. Easy riding, and some chases up to a pass. All is possible.
Greetings from Portugal! Marc if you can try the Honda nc 750 x …. I went from a BMW F650 funduro 1997 to a Honda nc 750 x
Hi Mark, no sportsbike for me. Iam very satisfied with my brand new Kawasaki Versys 1043 cc and 118 breakhorsepower. Keep up and i hope you got your Honda back soon. drive safe.
Rogga 👍👍👍
A KTM with an engine management symbol on. What a surprise!!!! Do you reckon the KTM they've given you is a customers bike that's in because of the engine management symbol warning? 🤔😉. I trust you're insured.
Completely agre with you Marc, i had a 890R and apart from being a worse bike than the Dominator, it transmits much less to me….by the way new engine with 2500 kms….i sold it quickly !
hello .you told about your speed meter . maybe cms in lelystad in the netherlands can help you with a speedometer .good luck
Absolutely love my 890 Duke R.
I swear a TDM 900 would suit you , mine does 63 mpg two up , very reliable , quick enough ( 86 HP ) but relaxing and not scary ….bonus now cheap and high miles no problem ! Yes I have one and only negatives are poor headlight , seat a little hard but not bad …..could do with more power for me but I went down from 145hp fazer 1000
It's not a sport bike but a hypermotard. Go back and ask them for a KTM 790/890 Adv or Honda Africa Twin or Transalp or KLR.
Hallo Marc.
Oh, nice your bike is soon on the roads, but just enjoy test riding other bikes, it's fun. I wish i could test every week a new one.. Nothing scares me anymore since i rode for 5 years the zzr1400, 0-300 kmh within 17 seconds 🫣 but i got back to an older vfr800. Need slowing down as a parent of three kids 😜
Bons passeios!
a bike will only go as fast a you make it go lol 👍👍👍
nice video mate!!
Thumbs up 🙂
Mate you are on a good thing ! I have never had a Honda I did not blow up ! KTM make hard seats !
If i compare my Husky TE-610 to my BMW K1100 LT-P (polizei) They have bot cons and pro's. The Husky comes from 2000 and the BMW from 1999. The same age so comparable.
The big pro of the BMW was his plenty balance axles in a 4 cilinder engine, the Husky which is a competition machine has just one.
Another pro for the BMW was his engine that hung in rubber all around, the Husky is mounted straight to te frame, no rubber.
Again a pro for the BMW was his rubber part in the rear wheel that deal with little shocks int he drive system caused by the road. (a motorcycle does not continues pull otherwise you would endless acellerate) The chain driven Husky has no anti shock rubbers whatsoever.
The Pro for the husky was his long motorcross suspension making little bumps i could feel on the BMW like a billiard table.
The next pro for the Husky is his motorcross style seat. You can ride in different positions. This was the big com for the BMW, one position for your back and legs.
Again a Husky pro was the wide motocross style handle bars which give you a lot of control.
The big com for the Husky was his motorcross setup, on the rides you gat shaked, not stirred.
For me the big pro for the Husky is his 60 horsepower on only 125 kilo while the BMW had 100 horsepower on 350 kilo. This make the Husky over 2 times stronger.
For long traveling, the BMW had a massive pro: his overpowered electric system of 55 amps. No looking for sleeping places with a wall socket and different adapter to take with you on international travels. The BMW just feed all the electronic devices, cameras and had power to spare to reload batteries. Stream 4 camera's directly on a laptop. All powered by the K1100.
And of coarse the BMW had 1 liter to 20 kilometers while the Husk like 1 to 16. Not exactly lean. And the Husk only want 98 ron or better. If needed the Husky can ride on 95 ron, but you have to take it easy.
At the end of the day, however the BMW is a tourer, for the long distance if prefer the Husky because of it light weight, different sitting positions, full control when standing on the bike and his long, long suspensions making bad road feel like a billiard table.
A lot of this you wil find in the Dominator, the long suspension, the possibility to ride standing and stil be in full control and the long, flat motocross style seat.
If you have some money to spend, i would go and look for a used, but in good condition rear suspension and complete front fork by Ohlins or WP. They are fully adjustable and they are a major difference when it comes to off road riding. With this suspension the Dominator becomes a serious all road bike. Chance the handle bars by slightly wide (85cm) Renthal handle bars. Put Acerbis rally style handguards on it. Oh before i forget, Ohlins or WP are upside-down forks, so you need a Honda red Acerbis or Ufo motocross front fender.
If you interested i can reinforse the original engine guard and put a aluminium tool box on it.
Great video buddy. Your right on them sports I always feel cramped up. Ride safe
I understand the point of view. Sports bikes are fun on a sunny day for a short amiubt of time. Ktms are not comfortable bikes. I'd rather ride a trail bike, even if its on road tyres.
Ok 👍 Marc 😃
You have been extremely patient I think with the dealer/part issue.Hope you get rewarded for this with many more seasons riding on it when it is(finally)done.
Riding a cb 500 x myself.
Robert
Less right wrist Marc your in control mate ?
This is not a bike meant for long travels 🙂
As long as it helps to steer you away from the Electric Bike Idea…. As long as you prefer the Honda to the KTM.. And both to the Electric nonsense….. Hope you get the Honda back soon Mate…..As a owner of old Africa Twin and Transalp..I know which one i would choose over the KTM Or Electric…..
Keep seeing the spanner sign on the display and it makes me wonder if somebody else is ringing them asking when their KTM is going to be ready and getting excuses🤔🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️💨
