Malta — The island nation of more than 500,000 people shares similarities with any Southern California beach town. With a Mediterranean climate, Malta attracts tourists from across the European continent, hoping to squeeze out the last days of the summer sun in mid-September.
Among those whom Malta has attracted is Peter Thiel, the Los Angeles-based technology investor, who has become one of the biggest individual donors in recent U.S. elections. He has applied for citizenship to Malta, according to documents viewed by The New York Times and three people with knowledge of the matter.
Thiel, a PayPal co-founder and the first outside investor on Facebook, backed Donald Trump in 2016 with a late $1.25 million donation. And in this midterm election cycle, he has spent about $30 million supporting the campaigns of more than a dozen Republican candidates, who have pledged to combat perceived globalist influences on the U.S. government and to put “America First.”
In this video, Andrew shares Peter Thiel’s passport portfolio.

Thiel is still a piece of sh*t. Massive net worth, but he's morally bankrupt. I prefer Buffet.
Serbia 🇷🇸
Croatia 🇭🇷
Multi passport broker is the newest trade in recent years!:)
I am in the process of filling out the FBAR form. I will see how long it takes to do. This is for claiming your foreign bank account. Wish you would elaborate on it more. My account is in Mexico. Website is ok so far, it says by mail or electronic is option.
İ have the German Citizenship can i get also another one ?! İ thought not. Because i had to give up my Turkish Citizenship to get the German one !
I'd just like my EU citizenship back non-thanks to the Brexit idiots, though CANZUK common citizenship would be interesting, seems unlikely to ever happen as Cananda, Australia and New Zealand don't want Westminster lording over then again…
Very nice. But dude, the "th" in Thiel is pronounced like that in Thailand: just like a "t", and not like that in "think". Also, one wouldn't have a philanthropic "impact", but an influence or contribution.
I can understand his passport strategy completely. Why would a billionaire want passports to any Latin American or African?
At 6:30 you hit the nail on the head. My wife and I are planning our trip to Brazil yo birth our third kid, not because we think Brazil has the best tax policy or education or anything, but simply because like a Serbia, they are tangential in the political sphere to the US and EU. Quiet frankly, Florianopolis is probably less likely to get nuked than New York.
Obtaining options via a second citizenship, or third, or fourth, is a wise move. Chile, Columbia, Paraguay, even Malaysia, or Dubai, etc may diversify your citizenship holdings but if you have zero attraction to the culture, even if/when the proverbial manure hits the fan, they're effectively useless. Yes, the US, Germany, and New Zealand have lurched leftward, but what they have that some places on your "potential" list don't is they're a known entity; they have structure and long term stability you can work with and through even in the bad times.
is there a point of diminishing returns when it comes to multiple passports? 4 seems like a lot. I think 3 is good enough
He might also want to add one of the countries that won't extradite to the US, like Vanuatu or Brunei….😉
If you have a physical product and have to be in a legacy brand country for the consumer base, then follow Robert Kiyosaki's cash flow quadrant and Apple's tax haven model (ireland>netherlands>jersey), but if you dont have to be in a LB country, its better to avoid all of that hassle and just move out to a lower tax country. I finally understand the incentive that Andrew is talking about and its more than just, "I didn't fit in."
If I had that much money, I would obtain citizenship of literally every single country that I can!
In addition to keeping the passport of my birth country, I would go for the Dominican and Turkish CBIs, then I would enquire about Unofficial CBIs in Georgia and Brazil. Those two would be my favourite countries and I would live in both of them
For a German citizen, what does Malta bring to the table for him?
You did not mention Colombia. Do you think currently Chile is in a better position than Colombia? You have mentioned Colombia before as a good place to have citizenship.
Can you elaborate on how it was even possible for him to obtain 3 additional passports since Germany barely allows dual citizenship?
When you're a billionaire I think you ned to have the backing of a government which I don't like.
It makes the video way better when you show clips of the country which you are talking about!
Thanks for the video, I'm french and after years of thinking i'll Invest in the following passports:
-Mauritius by descent
-Malta probably the best in EU
-St-Lucia as it is better to go there alone than St-Kitts and Nevis
-Chile
-Malaysia if i can after an MM2H visa
-UAE
-Turkey
Somewhat thought-provoking but it's obvious that someone like Thiel with 4 billion dollars has an army of attorneys managing his taxes, so who's this targeted at?
"the kind words.. plus the money.. plus his prestige" Loll
Settle yourself in Asia regardless the citizenship if you are interested in business really.
Brazilian citizenship seems to be better option than EU or NZ or Chile. It's in Mercosur and it's the biggest economy in latin America where you can own opportunities in some sectors that only given to citizens.
European people are fatally lazy and bureaucratic, they will make any entrepreneur angry, get their passport only for tourism and finding beautiful women not for business, they're lazy lazy lazy and slow pace and rigid. Uk is better place than Europe. And adding a passport that gives you access to african country is also very important.
Being europeen citizen is not good idea, except for tourism and getting beautiful chicks.
Agree with you!
They bribe the government and try to create a global oligarchy. This could never happen. First, they are retrograde provincial. Second, they will only be able to recruit quiet quitters. Machine learning and quantum computers don't work that way. Digital nomads have an escape route. Fools and their money are always parted.
Especially, in the case of having quiet a few billions available as in the case of Thiel. I suggest it is pretty useless to collect passports because he can live and invest wherever he wants citizenship isn't any hurdle. He should just select a country he likes most stay there and pay taxes. At the end of the day he will grow richer everyday no matter what
As I recall, about 5 years ago a study had shown that (supposedly) NZ was the country most resilient to global mayhem in the event of sudden, extreme global warming. Buying a footprint in NZ then became a fad like "climate hedge" for a certain subset of billionaires. I assume Thiel is grabbing Malta because he intends to exit both Germany and the US as a wealth tax hedge. Only logical.
Hi andrew i have a question here.
Are there any possibilities for tunesia? Due to my double nationality i still have my rights to a tunesian passport, but i don't know anything about the possibilities for the country for taxes and business. Im a dutch citizen. Thanks
would like to see a video about Bryan Baeumler and what he does or should do with citizenships. He lives in Canada, Florida and properties in Caribbean. I am wondering how he optimizes taxes
to me it seems those passports are not additional, but meant as replacement of US and GER as soon as shit hits the fan.
Peter Thiel was obliged to ask nicely twice to keep his german passport, first for US and second time for NZ. maltese citizenship is a no brainer for germany for obvious reasons: unless you aim for top level job in government you dont need a german citizenship and any citizenship from the other >25 EU/EEA member states will suffice to reside and set up business.
You shouldn't be advocating for anything this monster has done or will do. Yep, he can do what he wants but what he wants to do it mess with us democracy.
Nah bro, I'd just invade the country, since I'm a CIA contractor Warlord( just kidding 🤣🤣🤣)
Andrew, could you, please, talk about a Central Bank Digital Currency? Which countries might not be amenable to this idea?
how I get here I'm Philippines
